Tornado hits Monroe County

BEALLSVILLE – The National Weather Service this week confirmed that a storm that struck Monroe County Wednesday morning produced an EF-2 tornado, with winds from 111 to 135 mph. Buildings across the Miltonsburg, Ozark and Beallsville areas were damaged by the storm between 7:20 and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that no one was seriously injured or killed. Several residents reported seeing a tornado touch down.
