Etta Express sweeps Comets on Community Day

Marietta College swept Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Sunday at Pioneer Park. The Pioneers won game one, 8-0, and then downed the Comets 3-2 in 11 innings in game two. Marietta is now 10-20 overall and 7-7 in the OAC. Capital falls to 15-19 overall and 4-10 in the OAC. Marietta College softball sweeps Capital

BEXLEY — Marietta College swept an Ohio Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Capital Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers won game one, 5-1, and then took the second game, 15-10. Marietta improves to 20-16 overall and 6-8 in the OAC. Capital falls to 16-17 overall and 5-9 in the OAC. Marietta broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning of game one. MC postpones Community Day to Sunday

The Ohio Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader between Capital and Marietta College originally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed. The games will now be played on Sunday at Pioneer Park. All Community Day activities will take place on Sunday. Gates open at noon and the first game starts at 1 p.m. The Marietta College baseball seniors will be recognized prior to the first game at approximately 12:40 p.m. The 2006 National Championship baseball team will be honored in between games of the doubleheader.
