Freda Stewart and Floyd W. Baker were married Aug. 27, 1954 in Smith’s Chapel Church in Morgan County, Ohio by Rev. Francis Shinaberry. Freda is the daughter of the late Francis E. and Beulah Morris Stewart. Floyd’s parents were Milford D. and Hazel Parrish Baker.

In the early 1950s, Freda and Floyd were both employed by AEP at the Muskingum River Power Plant in Waterford. Floyd retired from Borg-Warner Chemicals in Washington, W.Va. in 1987. Floyd has been a musician for over 70 years, most recently with Ray Fought at Unity Village in South Parkersbug.

Children of the Bakers are David Jay Baker, Connie (Sam) Hayton, Don (Ronna) Baker, all of Belpre, and Daron Baker of Columbus.

Grandchildren are Eric and Travis Hayton of Pittsburg, Pa., Jamie (Phillips) Lallathin of Wilmington, N.C., and Emily (Damien) Chafin of Tacoma, Wash. They have a great-grandson, Reed Lallathin.

The Bakers have lived at 724 Third Street in Belpre for 51 years.
