Francis G. and Gladys E. Schilling of State Route 676, Marietta, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13.
They were married Oct. 14, 1959 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Churchtown by Monsignor Charles Highland. Schilling is the son of the late Francis and Louise (Lang) Schilling, and Mrs. Schilling is the daughter of the late Albert and Ella (Huck) Brooker.
The couple have eight children: Melinda Treadway (Jerry), Patti Finkel, Neil Schilling (Donna) and Troy Schilling (Teresa), all of Marietta; Philip Schilling (Julie) of Findlay, Ohio; Trina Poythress (Dean) of Harrisburg, NC; Randy Schilling (Jessica) of Chillicothe, Ohio; and Rodney Schilling (Erin) of New Marshfield, Ohio.
The couple also have 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Schilling worked at Marietta Concrete for nine years and retired from the AEP Muskingum River Plant after 30 years of service. Mrs. Schilling was a housewife and mother. Together they enjoy playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
The couple will celebrate with a Mass and card shower in their honor at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Churchtown.
