Robert Wayne and Janet Lee Mulligan, of Little Hocking celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2023.

Married in 1953 at the home of the bride’s parents, both were graduates of Belpre High School. Wayne is the son of the late William P. Sr. and Leona N. (Wilcoxen) Mulligan and Janet is the daughter of the late James L. and Gladys (Knowles) Coggeshall.

Wayne, a retiree of Johns Manville, is an active member of Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department, an organization he co-founded in 1963. Janet is a beloved homemaker and is an active participant in both the Little Hocking Garden Club and the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Wayne and Janet attend Porterfield Baptist Church, maintain a large vegetable and flower garden and are hosts to multiple family gatherings each year. They are the cherished parents of Lou Ann (Peter) Snyder, Linda (Michael) Chevalier and Robert (Joyce) Mulligan, all of Little Hocking. They are the grandparents of Josh (Alyssa) Chevalier, Andrea (Brian) Kittle, Megan (Josh) Schramm, all of Little Hocking and Andrew Mulligan of Batavia, Ohio, and Sean Mulligan of Barlow. Additionally, Wayne and Janet are great-grandparents to Carter, Colton and Cady Chevalier, Laurel and Reid Kittle, Madison Casto and Brynlee Schramm.
