Jacqueline and Kelly Hysell of Waterford are announcing the engagement of their son, Staton Hysell and Katelyn Brandenstein, both of Kent.

The parents of the bride-elect are Sue and George Brandenstein of Youngstown.

The couple are planning an afternoon ceremony at 1:30 p.m Oct. 22 at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, Ohio.

An evening reception will follow at the Holiday Inn, Boardman.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in visual communication design. He currently works as an user interface/user experience designer for ECS Tuning in Wadsworth. The bride-to-be also graduated from KSU with a bachelor’s in visual communication design. She is a graphic designer the Oatey Co. in Cleveland.
