Marissa Jean Ewing and Charles Taylor Winland were married Oct. 7, 2017 at Stacy’s Family Farm in Reno. Travis Williams officiated the outdoor ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Loren and Beverly Ewing of Marietta. She is the granddaughter of Rosemary Weckbacher and the late Glen “Skeeter” Weckbacher, Aunekia Ewing and the late Howard Ewing, all of Marietta. The groom is the son of Jeff and Donna Winland. He is the grandson of the late Henry and Mary Winland, Laura Ayers and the late Melvin Ayers, all of Sycamore Valley.
The matron of honor was Alisha Rook (sister of the bride) and the bridesmaids were Jessica Efaw (sister of the groom), Sam Whiteley and Courtney Tidd (friends of the bride). Flower girl was Ava Rose Rook (niece of the bride). The best man was Tom Grim (friend of the groom). Groomsmen were Greg Winland (cousin of the groom), John Carpenter and Jim Pyles (friends of the groom). Austin Yoak (cousin of the bride) and Jason Efaw (brother-in-law of the groom) served as ushers. Ring bearer was Holden Winland (cousin of the groom).
The bride is a graduate of Marietta High School and Washington State Community College with an Administrative Business Assistant degree. She is employed by Elmcroft by Eclipse as a resident care associate and babysits her niece in Etna. The groom is a graduate of Monroe Central High School and graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Agriculture. He is currently employed as a mechanic/truck driver at Lashley’s Tractor Sales.
A reception with dinner and dancing followed the ceremony and was held at the McLeish Auction Center. The newlyweds honeymooned in Gatlinburg and Nashville, Tennessee, and did some sightseeing in Kentucky. The couple now resides in Sycamore Valley.
