Wedding — Pottmeyer-Miller



Miss Kaitlin Lynnae Pottmeyer, daughter of Erin and Sherri Pottmeyer of Churchtown, Ohio, became the bride of Mr. Dean Allan Miller, son of Mike Miller and the late Tina Miller, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption in Marietta. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Joshua D. Erickson. Organist was John Ontko with cantor, Melissa Corcoran.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a gown designed by Madeline Gardner from the Morilee Signature Collection. The Surim wedding dress featured beaded alencon lace on a sculptured, V-neck bodice with net inset on a printed tulle ball gown. Details include a wide scalloped hemline and lace trimmed, cathedral length train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and anemones with accents of blue thistle, gunni eucalyptus, silver dollar and dusty miller; wrapped in a lace handkerchief that was her late grandmother’s. The bouquet was designed by Amy’s Flower Shoppe in Beverly.

The matrons of honor were, friend of the bride, Marissa McCutcheon of Waterford, and cousin of the bride, Katlyn Miller of Churchtown. They wore sleeveless v-neck full-length rose gold sequin dresses. The bridesmaids were cousins of the bride, Alison Pottmeyer, Belle Huffman, and Abby Huffman all of Churchtown and, friends of the bride, Amie Romine of Churchtown, Trinity Schlabach of Wooster, Lakin Brown of Dale, and sisters of the groom, Megan Isner of Lowell and Amanda Hupp of Hampton, Va. They wore two-piece full length dresses that were rose gold sequin and a romantic blue fabric and carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and anemones with a little silver dollar, gunni eucalyptus and blue thistle. The flower girls were, goddaughter of the Bride, Gia Rose Simmons of Springfield, Va., and goddaughter of the couple, Elena Dean Isner of Lowell. They wore full length ivory tulle dresses with a sleeveless rose-gold sequin bodice and carried a rose gold ring with matching flowers.

The bridegroom wore a navy-blue suit with a rose gold sequin tie and matching pocket square, made by the mother of the bride. Chad Offenberger, of Waterford, served as the best man. Groomsmen were, friends of the groom, Levi Porter, Billy Crock, Brandon Bauerbach, all of Waterford, Darek Brown of Dale, cousins of the groom, Anthony Duskey of Beverly, Cory Arnold and Taylor Arnold, of Vincent, and brothers of the bride, Taylor Pottmeyer and Travis Pottmeyer, both of Churchtown. Godson of the couple, Parker McClain of Lowell, served as the ring bearer. The groomsmen wore navy-blue suits with dusty rose ties and matching pocket squares.

Following the ceremony, a formal reception and dance was held for over 350 guests at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Churchtown. The venue was decorated with floor-to-ceiling white drapery and a white ceiling complete with a rose gold chandelier and globe lighting. Square tables, covered in navy linens, were decorated with rose-gold sequin runners and tall centerpieces of ivory Peony, blue thistle, flocked greenery, romantic blue berries, baby’s breath, and hanging eucalyptus, sitting on top of a wooden geometric stand. Boxwood branches inside crystal vases and candles of various sizes completed the tables. The couple sat at a round sweetheart table covered in rose gold sequins surrounded by a wooden geometric arch embellished with mixed greenery, silver-dollar eucalyptus, ivory roses, and baby’s breath. The bridal party sat under mixed greenery and eucalyptus with hanging jars illuminated by candles. Guests were served food catered by Ms. Elaine Lang, of Waterford, cake from The Village Cakery of Barlow, specialty cupcakes from Amanda Duskey, a sweet bar by the mother of the bride, and wine made by the bride’s family. The dance consisted of music provided by DJ Mike Bishman with Premier Productions Entertainment LLC. The couple’s first dance was to “Better Together” by Luke Combs.

Out of state guests present for the celebration were from Bakersfield, Calif., Midlothian, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Lawton, Iowa; Springfield, Va. and Hampton, Va.

The couple honeymooned at Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa in Puerto Morelos, Mexico immediately following the reception. The new Mrs. Miller is the granddaughter of Robert Heiss and Ellen Heiss, both of Marietta, and the late Robert and Elizabeth Pottmeyer, of Churchtown. She is a 2012 graduate of Waterford High School and a 2016 graduate of Marietta College with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Kaitlin is employed by Southwestern Energy as a Sr. Production Engineer. Mr. Miller is the grandson of Phillip Perdue, of Vincent, and the late Judith Perdue and Francis Miller, of Waterford, and the late Ora Jo Miller. He is a 2011 graduate of Waterford High School and is employed as a Crane Operator at Ferroglobe. The couple reside at their 58-acre farm in Churchtown, Ohio.
