Reports/Marietta

¯ Officers were dispatched Jan. 3 to 717 Greene St., Apt. A in reference to a domestic dispute. After investigation De’marcus Crudup was arrested for assault, criminal damaging, menacing and disrupting public service.

¯ An unruly patient was reported Jan. 4 at Marietta Memorial Hospital with the security staff unable to control the patient. Kelly Farnsworth was arrested for disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, due to the interruption of medical services.

¯ An officer was dispatched Jan. 4 to 111 W. Montgomery St. in reference to a possible intentional overdose. A 33-year-old female who had taken an unknown amount of Tylenol PM was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. The case is still under investigation.

¯ On Jan. 5, an officer investigated the report of two junk motor vehicles in the 800 block of E. Eighth St.

¯ An officer was dispatched Jan. 5 to Walmart, 804 Pike St., to assist the Marietta Fire Department with a male who had been found passed out in a bathroom stall. Upon arrival the male was conscious and admitted to “shooting heroin.” Two empty syringes were found and the male had urinated, vomited and bled on the floor. He was then taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital to receive medical treatment.

¯ Jennifer Beckett reported Jan. 6 that a juvenile at 119 Euclid Place had shot himself.

¯ A shoplifter was reported at Walmart Jan. 8. Seana Haught was arrested for theft and transported to the jail. Once at the jail it was found that Haught was concealing a meth pipe in her bra. Haught was charged with theft and drug paraphernalia. She was also found to have committed a theft at Walmart on Dec. 11 and was charged for theft in that case.

¯ An officer responded Jan. 8 to a reported unauthorized use of a vehicle. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.

¯ Michele L. Tabler, of 834 St. Marys Ave., reported being the victim of domestic violence on Jan. 10. Eric Lee Stevens was arrested for domestic violence.

¯ Lowe’s Home Improvement, 842 Pike St., reported a shoplifter on Jan. 11. Pamela Fellure was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

¯ Employee Patricia Massett reported Jan. 11 that someone had stolen four bottles of diet pills from a supply room at Memorial Health System offices at 330 E. Eighth St.

¯ While an officer was performing bailiff duty at Marietta Municipal Court Jan. 11, inmate Travis E. Sparks assaulted inmate Zackry P. Taylor while in the holding cell. Sparks was charged with assault.

¯ Possible domestic violence was reported Jan. 12 at 433 Second St. It was found that Aaron Huseman had committed domestic violence by knowingly causing physical harm and also by threat. Officers arrived at 112 Knox St., Apt. 34 and arrested Huseman. Huseman resisted arrest.

¯ Marietta High School reported Jan. 12 that a male student assaulted another student. The suspect admitted to his actions. He was suspended from school. The case is still under investigation

¯ Marietta High School reported Jan. 12 that students had exchanged inappropriate photos while on Christmas break. Fights arose at the high school because of the photos.

¯ On Jan. 12 an officer was dispatched to the Red Roof Inn, 702 Pike St.,  room 102 in reference to paraphernalia left behind in the room. Upon arrival and after investigation, the officer determined this incident relates directly to an active investigation. Evidence was collected and added to the case.

¯ Dollar General, 136 Gross St., reported a shoplifter on Jan. 12. Brittany M. Karcher was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.

¯ An officer investigated a DOA at 1001 Colonial Drive, Apt. 2 on Friday. The body was released to a funeral home.

¯ Walmart reported a shoplifter Saturday. Kelly J. Farnsworth was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ Scott A. Shankland, of 401 Marion St., reported Sunday that was home was forcibly entered. No items were known to be missing.

¯ Tina M. Curry, of 220 E. Spring St., reported Monday that the lock was cut to the unattached garage there and approximately $4,000 in tools were stolen along with a white 2004 Ford Focus station wagon. An investigation is ongoing.

¯ Marietta Adventure Company, 219 Second St., reported a theft on Monday. Stolen were two specialized mountain bikes valued at approximately $10,000. An investigation is ongoing.

Reports/Washington County

¯ Deputies responded to 433 Second St. Friday in reference to a report of Brittni Messick being at that location and there being an active felony warrant for her arrest. Brittni Cheyenne Messick, 23, of 260 Muskingum Drive, was placed under arrest for failure to appear, original charge illegal conveyance into a detention facility. She advised she had a “rig” on her person and multiple “rigs” in her purse. Messick then removed one syringe and needle from her clothing. A preliminary search of the purse revealed three syringes affixed with needles and a spoon, with what appeared to be burn marks on the bottom, and an unknown substance on top. Messick stated that these items were the only illegal items she had on or about her person. She was then transported to the Washington County Jail where a search revealed a small baggie with what appeared to be heroin in Messick’s bra. She was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments, three counts, second-degree misdemeanors, and conveyance of drugs into a detention facility, a third-degree felony.

¯ On Friday a deputy responded to Frontier High School, 44870 State Route 7, New Matamoras, in reference to a juvenile being in possession of marijuana. The school administration spoke with the juvenile who admitted to having the marijuana. The juvenile will be summoned into Washington County Juvenile Court for delinquency/trafficking in marijuana.

¯ On Friday a deputy filed for a warrant through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of William Joseph Mitchell, 32, on a charge of failure to provide change of address as required, a fourth-degree felony. In November 2015  Mitchell was sentenced to register as a Tier 1 sex offender for the offense of gross sexual imposition. On Jan. 6 a home visit was conducted by Mitchell’s parole officer, at the address he had registered. The current resident stated that Mitchell did not live there and had not lived there since the end of October.

¯ Thomas J. Piehowicz, of 155 Rauch Drive, Marietta, reported a problem with an account he had possibly being hacked on Friday. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Friday, the dog warden responded to 20 Charles St., Newport, in reference to Samantha Jean Burns, 35, allowing her dogs to run loose on the previous date. Burns had been told about her animals being loose in the past. Contact was made with Burns and another resident at the home. It was confirmed that the dogs had been loose at different times. A summons is being requested for Burns for failing to restrain her dogs through Marietta Municipal Court.

¯ Dennis E. Herndon, of 311 Walnut St., Lowell, reported a Samsung cell phone was removed from his residence on Friday. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy responded to the Dollar General, 27055 State Route 7, Marietta, on Friday in reference to the theft of a pink shirt. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Saturday, deputies responded to Watertown Township in reference to a possible domestic situation. After speaking with all parties involved it was determined that this case would be closed as unfounded.

¯  Deputies responded to Wesley Township on Saturday in reference to a possible menacing complaint. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Sunday, a deputy assisted an Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer in reference to hunters in the Belpre Township area. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Deputies along with the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department squad responded to Oak Grove Lane on Sunday in reference to an unresponsive 32-year-old male. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Sunday a deputy along with the Warren Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to 1235 Bethel Road, in reference to a mobile home fire. The fire personnel extinguished a small fire at the home. This case will be closed, no foul play is suspected.

¯ Steven P. Wagner, of 315 ¢ Marion St., Marietta, reported Sunday that his 2001 Dodge pickup truck was taken from 27360 State Route 7, Marietta. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Monday, a deputy along with the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the residence of Florizel W. Woodford, 11355 State Route 26, to a house fire which was fully engulfed. Medical attention was also given to Woodford at the scene. No foul play is suspected, this case will be closed.

Warrants/Washington County

¯ Jeffrey S. Wittekind, of 316 Gilman Ave., Marietta, for failure to appear.

¯ Joshua L. Gore, of 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, for failure to appear.

¯ Corey Smearman, of 910 Fourth St., Marietta, for failure to appear.

The following people were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Brittni Cheyenne Messick, 23, 460 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, was arrested Friday on warrants for illegal conveyance into a detention facility, drug instruments possession and failure to appear, all misdemeanors.

¯ Caleb Michael Smith, 18, of 242 Blair Ave., Mineral Wells, W.Va., for aggravated robbery and breaking and entering, both felonies, and theft and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. Smith was picked up at North Central Regional Jail and processed into the Washington County Jail on Friday.

¯ Jason Lee Mulligan, 32, of 822 Morgan Ave., Belpre, was arrested Saturday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Kelly Jane Farnsworth, 28, of 122 Harmar St., Marietta, was arrested Saturday for theft, drug instruments possession and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.

¯ Marcus Allen Jenkins, 34, of 32140 Hopewell Ridge Road, Wingett Run, was arrested Sunday for OVI, speed, reckless operation and drug possession, all misdemeanors.

¯ Mark Aaron McIntyre, 35, of 223 Broughton Ave., Marietta, was arrested Sunday for unauthorized use of motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

¯ Zachary David Reel, 20, of 1030 Quincy St., Parkersburg, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for contributing unruly/delinquent child and obstructing justice, both misdemeanors.

¯ Robert Earl Obrien, Jr., 34, of 343 Main St., Lower Salem, was arrested Sunday on warrants for two counts of failure to appear, both misdemeanors.

¯ Tess Lynn Conzo, 20, of 823 Florence St., Belpre, was arrested Monday for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

¯ Eugene Robert Offenberger, 61, of 106 Plum St., Marietta, was arrested Monday for drug possession, a felony.

¯ Felicia Dawn Wallace, 26, of 105 Leland Ave., Marietta, was arrested Monday for drug possession, a felony.

¯ Cynthia Mae Wallace, 53, of Lowell, was arrested Tuesday for drug possession, a felony.

¯ Jesse Bernell Holmes, 28, of 5049 Federal Road, Coolville, was arrested Tuesday for domestic violence and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

¯ Brandon Michael Schmidt, 26, homeless, was arrested Tuesday on two warrants for theft, both misdemeanors and criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

¯ Austin Leroy Lightfritz, 18, of 116 Harmar St., Marietta, was arrested Tuesday for auto theft, a felony, and operating with expired operator’s license, a misdemeanor.

¯ Carlos Roberto Munoz, Jr., 43, of 612 Ninth St., Marietta, on a warrant for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Munoz turned himself in at the Washington County Jail on Wednesday.
