People gathered along the west bank of The Muskingum River Saturday for the rededication of the Marietta Kiwanis Club Park in memory of Roger Eddy, who died last year, and was a long-time member of the club. The group recently added a sitting area near the Putnam Bridge to the park that reaches from the bridge to the Marietta College Boathouse. In recent years, the club has made several improvements to the area, including adding a large picnic shelter. Eddy once served as the crew coach for Marietta High School and was later a member of the Marietta College coaching staff. As a student he rowed on both crews. The new addition to the park is near the finish line of the race courses used by both schools.
