Covid-19 Memorial to be observed

On Tuesday, Jan. 19, communities across America will pause to remember all who have been lost to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a lighting ceremony on the Washington Mall in Washington DC, communities are encouraged to ring bells and light candles to celebrate the lives lost.

First Congregational United Church of Christ will have a memorial observance as well. Beginning at 5:15 p.m. one hundred tea lights will adorn the front steps of the church and at 5:30 p.m. the chimes will play for fifteen minutes.

The public is invited to stroll by the church, observing socially distant precautions. There will be no speeches but certainly silent prayers are encouraged. Those who are unable to attend may want to have their own observance at home. For more information, call 740-516-4029.
