UPDATE: Fort Frye and Waterford are dismissing students early because of safety threats.
A post on the Fort Frye Local school district Facebook page said parents can pick up their Beverly-Center and Fort Frye High School students starting at 10:45 a.m. at the Fort Frye High School Football Stadium. Buses from those schools will dismiss at 11:30. Parents can pick students at Lowell and Salem-Liberty at anytime; buses for those schools will dismiss at 1 p.m.
Waterford High and Elementary schools will dismiss at 11 a.m.
Belpre Elementary School is also dismissing students.
BELPRE -- Safety threats have been called in to three Washington County schools this morning.
Washington County sheriff’s deputies were called to Waterford High School this morning after a threat was made there, following a bomb threat that led to evacuation Thursday and multiple threats Friday.
Fort Frye High School reported a bomb threat at 10 a.m. Students were evacuated and students at the high school and neighboring Beverly-Center Elementary School are safe, the post said. Lowell and Salem-Liberty Elementary schools have been placed on lockout as a precaution.
Belpre City Schools sent out an automated call to parents at 10:24 a.m. saying students were being evacuated from Belpre Elementary School after a bomb threat there. Belpre High School has been locked down as a precaution.
Investigators have said it’s believed the same individual made threats Thursday and Friday. Waterford High School Principal Suellen Coleman confirmed today’s call came from the same number.
“If anyone out there has any information concerning who is doing this, we would really like for them to come forward,” Mincks said. “We feel like there are people out there who know what is going on.”
