Marietta Main Street is accepting applications for the Paul Bruhn Historic Preservation Grant.
Building owners in Marietta's C4 downtown district are eligible to receive funding for qualifying building preservation projects or renovations. The program seeks to fund activities from $50,000 to $100,000, reimbursable with grant funds from the program.
Property owners are required to contribute a 10 percent cash match toward any project activity proposed for consideration. Efforts must be focused on a building that is currently generating income or would be able to generate income after an awarded project is complete.
All activities must be completed by April 2024. Projects may include, but are not limited to, architectural and engineering planning and specification development, brick and mortar rehabilitation of facility interiors and exteriors and project administration.
Applications and any supporting materials must be submitted to the online grant portal no later than 4 p.m. Feb. 10.

The Marietta Main Street board of directors will advance up to two projects for consideration to Heritage Ohio, who will make final selections. All awarded projects must adhere to Secretary of Interior standards for rehabilitation and will be subject to historic preservation covenants based on funds awarded.
The Ohio History Connection was awarded $750,000 in August to provide competitive grants to five Appalachian Main Street communities for projects that support the preservation of historic buildings and economic development.
This is the second round of funding made available from the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant Program, named in honor of the late Paul Bruhn, executive director of the Preservation Trust of Vermont for nearly 40 years.
