Washington County Grand Jury indicts 25 defendants
The Washington County Grand Jury indicted 25 true-billed defendants on 58 counts this week.
Matthew T. Sandy, 38, of 2090 County Road 9, Reno, was indicted on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony; one count of domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor; one count of abduction, a third-degree felony; and one count of disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony.
Washington County Prosecutor Nicole Coil said Sandy was arrested in January after a 911 call in reference to a woman on the line who was crying and was unable to give more information.
“Law enforcement made contact with her and she said to meet at the Holiday Express in Marietta,” she said. “When they got there, the woman said she was punched three times by Sandy.”
Other indictments include:
¯ Brandon R. Stover, 38, of 508 Fifth St., Parkersburg, was indicted on one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, and one count of felonious assault, a first-degree felony. According to the indictment, in September 2018, at Ohio 7 and Ohio 339 in Belpre. Stover allegedly eluded a police officer and reportedly attempted to cause serious harm to Reid Phillips, a peace officer, with his vehicle.
¯ Michael L. Gray, 37, of 710 Front St. Apt. 1, Marietta, was indicted on one count of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; one count of abduction, a third-degree felony; one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony; and one count of disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly forced another to use methamphetamine from July 2021 through Jan. 12. He also allegedly restrained the liberty of a family member on Jan. 12. He had previously been convicted of domestic violence in Jan. 25, 2019, in the Washington County Court of Common Pleas.
¯ James D. Warner, 40, of 318 Gilman Ave., Marietta, was indicted on two counts of extortion, both third-degree felonies; two counts of menacing by stalking, both fourth-degree felonies; and two counts of violating a protection order, both first-degree misdemeanors. From Sept. 1 through Oct. 17, Warner allegedly threatened two individuals with assault. On Sept. 22, he reportedly caused mental distress to a family member by threatening physical harm.
¯ Nicole D. Davis, 37, of 204 Dale St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. She was reportedly to appear in common pleas court in January.
¯ Melanie A. Blake, 47, homeless, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. She was reportedly to appear in common pleas court in January.
¯ Brittany A. Science, 23, of 724 Lancaster St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. She was reportedly found in January 2021 on Ohio 7 in Marietta with methamphetamine.
¯ Roxane R. Spicer, 42, of 814 East Marietta Road, McConnelsville, and Cyril C. Pletcher III, 42, of 920 Schott Road, Waterford, were each indicted on one count of improperly furnishing firearms to a minor, a fifth-degree felony. In June 2019, they allegedly gave a firearm to a person who is under age 18.
¯ Clinton B. Owens, 59, of 26101 Grand View Road, Parkersburg, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was allegedly found in June 2020 at 498 Pike St., Marietta, with methamphetamine.
¯ Samantha J. Boley, 38, of 45182 Gilmore Road, Clarington, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. She was reportedly found in June at 414 Greene St., Marietta, with hydrocodone.
¯ Arianna N. Richardson, 23, of 557 Hoye Ave., Akron, was indicted on one count of forgery and one count of identity fraud, both fifth-degree felonies. In February 2018, she allegedly used personal identifying information to represent Brittany N. Ring.
¯ Five individuals were indicted on charges stemming from a drug raid in May 2020 at 406 Scammel St., Marietta.
Trevon K. Waugh, 21, of 1635 Hanover Court, Lancaster, was indicted on one count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both third-degree felonies. Subject to forfeit are an LG cell phone and $571 in cash.
Gloria M. Hewitt, 31, of 716 Munson Ave., Zanesville, was indicted on one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.
Kacy G. Rogers, 34, of 406 Scammel St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony. The drug bust occurred at her residence.
Sule A. West, 21, of 3067 Scottwood Road, Columbus, was indicted on one count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both third-degree felonies. Subject to forfeit are an Apple iPhone S and $358 in cash.
Bradley W. Rogers, 31, of 406 Scammel St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony. The drug bust occurred at a home he shared with Kacy Rogers.
Trece M. Reynolds, 24, of 4786 Hilton Ave. Apt. A, Columbus, was indicted on one count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both third-degree felonies. Subject to forfeit are an Apple iPhone and $705 in cash.
¯ Steven T. Ball, 32, of 814 Quarry St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was allegedly found in June on the 100 block of N. Seventh Street, Marietta, with methamphetamine.
Ball was also indicted with Neil C. Connell, 37, of 814 Quarry St., Marietta, on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. They were reportedly found in March 2021 on Seventh Street, Marietta, with methamphetamine and the fentanyl-related compound.
¯ Michael Paul Hollingsworth, 42, of 2255 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and one count of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both fifth-degree felonies. He reportedly was found in March 2021 on Ohio 7 in Marietta with methamphetamine and a fentanyl-related compound.
¯ Kacy Renae Neely, 30, of 201 S. Main St., Malta, was indicted on eight counts of theft of drugs, all fourth-degree felonies. She reportedly stole hydrocodone and oxycodone from six local residents in September,
¯ Benjamin D. Cunningham, 37, of 125 Hayesville Road, Waterford, was indicted on five charges, including one count of disrupting public services, a fourth-degree felony; two counts of unlawful restraint, both third-degree misdemeanors; and two counts of domestic violence, both first-degree misdemeanors. He reportedly held a woman against her will Jan. 15 and 16.
