Former Wood County Economic manager to become executive director in Ohio

DELAWARE -- A former Wood County Economic Development and Downtown PKB employee is becoming the Executive Director of Main Street Delaware in Delaware, Ohio.
Main Street Delaware recently announced Courtney Hendershot will join the organization July 5 as its new executive director.
Hendershot currently is the economic development project manager for the City of Delaware.
In the role, she assists existing businesses in expansion and retention efforts. Hendershot also helped the downtown district to secure more than $350,000 in pandemic-related grants aiding 49 businesses.
Hendershot graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Marketing and Social Media.
She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 2013. Her parents are Tina Hendershot of Marietta and Steve Hendershot of Whipple.
Prior to moving to the Columbus area, Hendershot learned about Main Street during an internship while attending Ohio Northern with Downtown PKB in Parkersburg.
From there, she was hired full-time as a shared employee between the Wood County Economic Development office and Downtown PKB where she served for a little under two years.
Her experience locally included event planning and promotion, securing sponsorship, and fundraising, as well as marketing and social media management for the two organizations.
Lindsey Piersol, Executive Director of the Wood County Economic Development office and Hendershot's former employer, is ecstatic for her and for Delaware.
"As a former employee of the City of Delaware myself and Courtney's former boss, I could not be more proud," Piersol said. "Courtney is vibrant, hard working, personable and I have no doubt she will do great things for downtown Delaware."
