Frontier High School Alumni Association classes 1969-1990, recently held their 10th annual four-man golf scramble on May 7.
Said scramble was held at the St. Marys WV golf course in St. Marys WV. Despite the very wet start to the scramble we had a great time.
The weather was chilly and wet, but it was a wonderful day. A glazed donut breakfast was offered before the scramble started.
The 18 teams that signed up for the day of golf stuck to their game and at 9 a.m. the golfers started playing their 18 rounds of golf.
A hamburger/hot dog picnic styled lunch was provided.
While signing up for the scramble a three pack of golf balls was given to each player. Upon departure skill prizes were awarded, door prizes were won, and we had a 50/50 winner.
On behalf of the Alumni Association I would like to thank all golfers, anyone who helped work during the 10th annual golf tournament, those who sponsored a hole, and anyone who donated and or prepared food. Without the help of everyone this successful fund raiser could not continue.
Congratulations to Marshall Lamp and his team for taking first place, Curt Satterfield and his team for taking 2nd place, Billy Wren and his team for taking 3rd place.
The most important part of the day was that money was raised for the Frontier Alumni Association scholarship fund. For the past 10 years the Alumni Association has been able to award 2 seniors from the graduating class a $500 scholarship each.
Next year if you are a senior at FHS or have a graduating senior in the 2022-2023 class, please make sure to stop in the guidance department and get a scholarship application.
The annual alumni reunion was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the corona virus outbreak. The Frontier Alumni Association 1969-1990 is very excited to announce the reunion is on for the 2022 year.
Due to the outbreak in the corona virus in 2022 we were delayed in being able to prepare for our second weekend in June date. We chose a later in the year date of August 19 and 20th. Information has been sent out via social media, emails, and snail mail.

In May of 2023, please consider gathering up a team to play in our 11th annual golf tournament.
To play in the tournament you do not have to be Frontier Alumni, we encourage anyone that loves the game to come enjoy the day with us. Details of the outing will be available much closer to that time.
