By James Dobbs 1 min read

A Beverly man was a no-show for a plea hearing on Friday morning in the Washington County Common Pleas Court after assaulting an officer.

Thomas Edward Nicholson, 33, of Beverly, was arrested for obstructing official business, a felony, menacing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanours. In October 2021, Nicholson charged at a patrolman in the 600 block of Third Street in Marietta, who was dispatched to the area of Marietta Memorial Hospital in reference to a mental patient walk away. He was then arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged.

A change of plea was scheduled for Friday, July 8, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Mark Kerenyi in Washington County Common Pleas Court. Nicholson did not show and an issue will be warranted for his arrest.
