Ohio River Basin restoration plan meeting

Few things are as important to our lives and well-being as access to clean, safe drinking water. Yet we face many challenges in keeping the Ohio river fishable, drinkable and swimmable for all: habitat loss, invasive species, sewer overflows, acid mine drainage, runoff from farms and more.

The National Wildlife Federation, Ohio River Basin Alliance, West Virginia Rivers Coalition and Friends of the Cheat are co-hosting a free community meeting to listen to concerns from area residents about water quality, infrastructure and other issues of the Ohio River and tributaries in the Upper Ohio River Valley region.

If you’re concerned about your water quality, we invite you to please join us in our listening session from 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 at the pavilion in Broughton Nature and Wildlife Education Center/ 639 OH-821, Marietta.

Help us set our priorities for getting the Ohio River and tributaries back on a path to recovery.
