The Ohio State University Extension of Washington County is pleased to announce the winners of the annual 4-H College Scholarship Awards. Each applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman who have been a 4-H member for at least three years.
Funding for the scholarship awards is provided by the Washington County 4-H Endowment Committee through funds housed at Marietta Community Foundation.
Three winners receiving $500 scholarships are:
≤ Emma Bauerbach, daughter of Dave and Beth Bauerbach, is a member of the Backyard Gang 4-H Club. Emma is a senior at Marietta High School and plans to major in diagnostic medical sonography at University of Rio Grande.
≤ Emma Poulton, daughter of Lloyd and Sarah Poulton, and a member of Churchtown Community Crew 4-H Club. Emma will graduate from Warren High School. In the fall, she plans to attend Marshall University or Otterbein University and study zoology/biology and environmental science.
≤ Kenzie Smith, daughter of Brad and LeeAndra Smith, is a member Oak Grove Explorers and Bulls Eye 4-H Clubs and will graduate from Marietta High School. Kenzie plans to attend Muskingum University working toward a degree in animal studies.
Four winners receiving $250 scholarships are:
≤ Emma Cline, daughter of Dustin and Ashley Cline plans to attend Washington State Community College and pursue a nursing degree. She will graduate from Waterford High School and is a member of the Ribbon Wranglers 4-H Club.
≤ Tessa Haffner plans to attend The Ohio State University and earn a degree in environmental engineering. Her parents are Jeff and Kelle Haffner and she will graduate from Warren High School and is a member of the Trail Blazers 4-H Club.
≤ Emma Hartline is a member of the Lynch Combined 4-H Club and plans to attend West Virginia University Parkersburg this fall. She plans to pursue a degree in early childhood education, and is the daughter of Matt & Missy Hartline.
≤ Maggie White plans to attend Washington State Community College or WVUP. She is the daughter of Jay and Tonya White and plans to study radiologic or surgical technology. She is a member of the Salem Liberty Homemakers and Lower Salem Boys 4-H Club.
