Civitan Club awards three $1,000 scholarships to local graduates

The Marietta Civitan Club recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to three 2023 Washington County graduating seniors to help them continue their educations.

With these awards, the club continues a scholarship program that has benefited students since 1969. Seniors from all six Washington County high schools were eligible to apply for these scholarships. Each applicant were required to complete an application and submit and essay and references. Finalists were then interviewed by the scholarship committee. Recipients were chosen based on a number of criteria, including school and community activities, scholarship and need. The following are the 2023 recipients:

≤ Rowen Baker, a graduate of Marietta High School, was awarded the Ken Coffman Memorial Scholarship. Rowen is the daughter of Lucas and Johanna Baker and will use the scholarship to further her studies at The Ohio State University.

≤ Andrew Rauch, son of Brett and Dawn Rauch, received the Art Jones Memorial Scholarship. A graduate of Warren High School, Andrew will be attending Akron University in the fall.

≤ Kaitlyn Lipscomb is the recipient of the Charlie Thrash Memorial Scholarship. Kaitlyn is the daughter of John and Brandy Lipscomb and will be going to The Ohio State University.
