¯ The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a regular meeting at 5:15 p.m. today. The meeting will be held at Ewing School, 1701 Colegate Drive, Marietta. All meetings of the are open to the public.
¯ The required annual meeting of the Washington County Engineer and the Township Trustees having to do with the maintenance and repair of roads and bridges is to be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the church hall of Our Lady of Mercy Church at 5001 Lowell Hill Road (CR 60), Lowell, Ohio. ¯ The Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, 1400 Pike St., Marietta. ¯ Public Employee Retirees Inc. will meet at 1 p.m. May 10 at Marietta First Church of the Nazarene, 100 Millcreek Road. The meeting is prior to the district meeting in June at Stockport. Open to all previous members and any interested retired employees of OPERS.

¯ St. Luke's Episcopal Church will hold its monthly community meal from 5-6 p.m. today and June 6. The meal is dine-in or take-out. To ensure that there are sufficient take-out meals available for pick-up, you must call the church office at 740-373-5132 by noon on Tuesday. Give your name and the number of meals you are requesting. A limit may be imposed. If you do not call in advance, we may not be able to fulfill your request.

¯ Hidden Marietta's Fifth Annual Paranormal Exposition will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 422 Front St., Marietta. Admission is $15. Organizers plan a day of psychics, ghosts, monsters, reiki, the paranormal and more. More than 75 paranormal vendors, five speakers, food trucks will be available.

¯ Mt. Pleasant United Women in Faith will hold a yard sale on Friday at 8 a.m. and Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells. We will also be selling hot dogs on Friday and Saturday and there will be a bake sale on Saturday. Proceeds benefit the church and missions.

¯ At the New Matamoras Library's May 8 Coffee Break program, John Miller and Jim Moore will host as we reminisce and remember times past in and around New Matamoras. ¯ Friends of Forgotten Felines is holding a fundraiser from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 12 at Tractor Supply, 100 Cherry Tree Lane. A hotdog, chips and a drink is $5. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization dedicated to the care of abandoned felines in the area.
¯Dog Days in May, sponsored by Belpre Heights Church will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday May 13 (rain date, 5/27/23) at Howes Grove Park, Belpre. Various vendors including nail trimming and ear cleaning. Pet photos will be included along with different dog obedience trainers. Bring dogs and join in playing games to win prizes. The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley will be giving vaccinations free but donations are appreciated and microchipping for $20. There will be a site for donations. There will be a schedule of events going on all afternoon including Ask a Trainer Time. Different raffles will be going on including a dog house built by the Carpenter Class of Washington County Career Center. Come and see dogs and cats that are up for adoption from the shelter and rescue group.

¯ Marietta Township's School Reunion will be held May 20 at the Marietta Township Community Building in Reno. Former students of Sand Hill, Reno, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker and Yankeeburg schools are included. Meat, coffee, tea and table service will be provided. ¯ The Alzheimer's Association offers professionally led groups for caregivers, individuals living with Alzheimer's and others dealing with the disease of dementia. All support groups are facilitated by trained individuals. ¯ The O'Neill Center will hold chair volleyball at 9 a.m. Wednesdays, except the second Wednesday of the month.

¯ TOPS 399, Marietta, meets 6 p.m. Tuesdays at the First Church of the Nazarene to help members lose weight by group support to a goal set by each member's physician. TOPS Club Inc. is a nonprofit, weight-loss support and wellness education organization in the United States and Canada.
