Two junior high boys from Marietta have won first place in two separate Ohio state fishing tournaments, thereby qualifying to compete in the national and world champion tournaments later this year.
Grayson Goodwin, 13, (son of Glynn and Katie Goodwin) and Colton Baker, 12, (son of Scott and Angie Baker) took first place as a team in both the Ohio B.A.S.S. Nation Junior Championship fishing tournament held April 29-30 and Bass Federation Junior State Championship, which was held on May 13. Both events took place on Alum Creek in Columbus.
Grayson is a seventh grader at Fort Frye Middle School, and Colton is a seventh grader at Marietta Middle School. The win qualified them to fish in the B.A.S.S. Nation national tournament on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina in July, and the TBF World championship on Sooner Lake in Oklahoma also in July. The boys also won prizes and gift cards.
