¯ Nicholas Ryan Azar, 28, of 1901 Rockland Ave., Belpre, was driving a 2016 Chevy Silverado pickup truck southbound on Ohio 7 May 3 in Dunham Township when he went off the left side of the road and struck a concrete barrier. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.
¯ Stephanie Lynn Garrisi, 53, of 293 Seevers Road, Newport, was driving a 2023 Kia Soul SUV northbound on I-77, exiting to Ohio 7, when she went off the side of the ramp while negotiating a curve and struck a sign. She was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.
¯ Alicia A. Hockenberry, 22, of 30825 Ohio 7, Marietta, was southbound on Ohio 7 May 15 in Marietta Township in a 2009 Nissan Altima when she tried to turn right into a private drive and struck a stop sign. Patrol reports indicate she was distracted by something inside the vehicle. She was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control. Unsafe speed was noted as a contributing factor. Hockenberry had possible injuries but did not choose to be transported from the scene.
¯ Jordan Shawn Martin, 26, of 38686 Ohio 7, Newport, was southbound on Ohio 7 in a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck May 13 in Newport Township when he went off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve and struck a rock, causing the vehicle to overturn. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control. Being under the suspected influence of alcohol was noted. He had possible minor injuries and was taken by the Pleasants County EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital.
¯ Adam Scott Raines, 36, of 7051 Marion St., Chester Hill, was driving a 2008 Chevy Colorado pickup truck southbound on Ohio 78 May 10 in Malta Township when he went off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve, struck an embankment and overturned. Illness was listed as a contributing factor in the accident and no charges were listed on the report. He received possible minor injuries and was transported by M and M EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital.
¯ Jonah Drew Schneider, 27, of 13839 Ohio 26, Reno, was westbound on Ohio 550 in Fairfield Township May 11 in a 2003 International 7500 dump truck owned by Washington County when he went off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert, fence, trees and traffic sign and overturned. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.
¯ Alexia Morae Stiltner, 19, of 4227 Johnson Ridge Road, Stockport, was driving a 2015 Subaru Legacy southbound on Ohio 266 when she crossed the center line while negotiating a curve, veered off the left side of the road and struck a ditch and a traffic sign. The report cited unsafe speed as a contributing factor. She was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control. Stiltner and a 17-year-old passenger were not injured.
¯ May 1 in Marietta Township, Jacob M. Bigley, 32, of 1638 Poplar St., Davisville, W.Va., was driving northbound on Ohio 7 in a 2016 International LF627 semi-tractor with one trailer, owned by Estes Express Lines of Richmond, Va., when he struck the back of another vehicle northbound on Ohio 7, an Ohio Valley Cab and Delivery Service taxi passenger van driven by Daniel C. Knost, 61, of 225 Dugan Road, Belpre. Bigley was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. According to patrol reports, Knost told the investigating officer he had two passengers at the time of the accident, but they left the scene on foot before police arrived, saying they would be arrested. He said he did not know details of their identities. Knost had possible injuries but was not transported for medical care.
¯ Tyler Ellis Smith, 29, of 510 Barclay St., Apt. C, Belpre, driving a 2014 Jeep Patriot SUV northbound on Ohio 339 in Belpre Township May 1, failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck another vehicle that was also northbound on Ohio 339, a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Clarence Andrew Wires, 28, of 163 Turner Drive, Belpre. Smith was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Patrol reports noted he was distracted by activity involving an electronic device in the vehicle.
¯ Joselyn J. Mason, 82, of 18635 Ohio 676, Marietta, was driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata southbound on County Road 4 in Waterford Township May 4 when her vehicle was struck by Teri Dawn Sutton, 47, of 392 North Oak Grove Road, Williamstown, driving a 2017 Chrysler 300. Sutton was entering County Road 4 from a private drive and failed to yield the right of way. Sutton was charged with failure to yield the right of way on a public highway.
¯ A Fort Frye Local School bus, driven by Jeffery David Anthony, 67, of 170 Riverview Lane, Lowell, was westbound on Ohio 60 in Adams Township May 5 when it was struck by a 2009 Chrysler 300 driven by James Thomas Smith, 20, of 1660 Finkle Hill Road, Beverly. Smith failed to yield at a stop sign while making a left turn from Township Road 349 onto Ohio 60 eastbound. Anthony was not injured and there were no passengers listed as being on the bus. Smith was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. He had possible minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Beverly EMS.
¯ Devin S. Kirkbride, 29, of 31169 Ohio 565, Lower Salem, was driving a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo southbound on Ohio 60 in Muskingum Township May 10 when he slowed for traffic and was struck from behind by a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by John R. Lipscomb, 45, of 218 Fourth St., Lowell. Lipscomp was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
¯ Elizabeth Ann Bellville, 40, of 815 Colegate Drive, Marietta, was southbound on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township May 11 while driving a 2021 Chevy Suburban owned by EAN Holdings LLC of Tulsa, Okla. Her vehicle was struck by a 2018 Chevy Equinox SUV driven by Melissa D. McCune, 51, of 3054 Ohio 26, Marietta, who was also southbound on Ohio 7. McCune was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Bellville had a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old as passengers. There were no injuries.
¯ Taylor Michelle Taylor, 28, of 120 Deere Haven St., Marietta, was stopped in traffic while northbound on Ohio 7 in Newport Township May 14, in order to turn left onto County Road 47. A vehicle behind her failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead, swerved left of center to avoid contact with her vehicle but struck it anyway, then left the scene. Taylor was unable to provide a license plate number, make or model on the truck. She had a 4-year-old passenger but there were no injuries.
¯ Rood K. Kincaid, 25, of 2324 Broad St., Parkersburg, was eastbound on US 50 in Belpre Township May 11, driving a 2008 Honda Civic belonging to Michael J. Higgins of Huber Heights, Ohio, when a semi-tractor and trailer behind him failed to maintain its lane and struck Kincaid’s vehicle. The truck continued traveling down US 50 while Kincaid pulled over. Kincaid then drove home and reported the accident.
¯ Kannyn Hateya Devore, 18, of 1465 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, was driving a 2007 Chevy Equinox SUV owned by Andrew Scott Devore, same address, eastbound on McGill Road in Dunham Township May 10 when he crossed the center line and a side mirror on his car struck a mirror on a car driven by Charles D. Barry, 45, of 524 Watson Road, Parkersburg, who was westbound on McGill Road. Devore continued driving while Barry pulled into a private drive. Devore later called to report the accident. Devore was charged with leaving a marked lane before ensuring it was safe to do so. Patrol reports noted that a distraction inside his vehicle contributed to the incident. Devore received possible minor injuries and was transported from the scene by an unknown party.
¯ Justin M. Hensley, 26, of 79 S. Bruce St., Little Hocking, was driving a 2004 Kenworth T800 semi-tractor with trailer, owned by ANH Trucking LLC of 100 Westview Ave., Marietta, westbound on Ohio 676 in Watertown Township May 9 when the trailer caught a low-hanging wire that snapped a pole. The pole struck the front of the truck, which Hensley then pulled into a private drive. No charges were listed.
