Wheelock slates library performance

PARKERSBURG -- A free performance highlighting the history of West Virginia will be presented at 6:30 pm. May 31 at the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library on Emerson Avenue.
Mountain Sam Wheelock will present "A Story and a Song," a one-man show tracing the history of Appalachian life through music. The stories and songs look into people from the perspective of who they are and the music they created.
Wheelock was a featured performer on "Song of the Mountains" that aired on 190 PBS television affiliates. Wheelock received advertising awards from Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Cox Communications, "Auto Trader" and ABC Productions.
He contributed to TV shows including "Baywatch" and movies including "The Addams Family" and the Quentin Tarantino film "From Dusk Till Dawn."
