Ohio State Highway Patrol reports

¯ Benzel Edwin Ferrell II, 54, of Trenton, Mich., was traveling southbound on Ohio 26 May 27 in Lawrence Township when he failed to negotiate a curve and his 2023 KTM 790/890 ADV R motorcycle went left of center, then went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. He had possible minor injuries and was transported by the Little Muskingum EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.

¯ David Harris, 74, of 2550 Dixson Ridge Road, Lowell, was driving a 1997 International 4900 dump truck northbound on Township Road 32 in Adams Township May 30 when he went off the right side of the road, overturned and struck a tree. The vehicle he was driving was owned by Adams Township Washington County, Lowell. Harris had possible serious injuries and was taken by the LA VFD Squad to Marietta Memorial Hospital. No charge was listed but the patrol report said improper passing contributed to the accident.

¯ Dennis Lee Sarver, 64, of 1563 Deming Road, Fleming, was driving a 2022 GMC Sierra southbound on Ohio 339 in Dunham Township May 26, while Holly Brianna Gerstell, 26, of 2500 27th Ave., Parkersburg, driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee SUV, was eastbound on County Road 3 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Sarver’s vehicle. Sarver’s vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a mailbox. Both drivers had possible injuries but were not transported. Gerstell was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. The patrol report noted that she had been distracted by an electronic device in the vehicle.

¯ Jessica R. Wolfert, 17, of 1485 Player Run Road, Macksburg, driving a 2013 Ford Taurus owned by Scott W. Wolfert, same address, was eastbound on Township Road 613 in Belpre Township May 27 when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. The patrol report noted that she ran a stop sign. She was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control.

¯ Jaynda G. Glover, 22, of 2517 22nd Ave., Parkersburg, driving a 2019 Honda Civic, was on Blue Knob Road in Warren Township June 1, failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck a 2022 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Casey A. Arman, 34, of 175 Old School Lane, Fleming. Glover was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance.
