PARKERSBURG --The Artsbridge's Summer Music Series at City Park continues 7-8 p.m. Thursday with featured band Track 9, a local group.

For Track 9, the performance this week is like a homecoming. It was August 2019 when the band first performed at another Artsbridge Summer concert.
Few personnel changes in the band have occurred since the summer of 2019, but the formula of two lead singers, three horn players and a four-piece rhythm section remains the same. The nine-piece band has performed in various locations throughout West Virginia since the first concert, including fairs, festivals, private parties and club dates.
The Strawberry Festival in Elkins, Town and Country Days in New Martinsville on Aug. 18 and the West Virginia Cupcake Festival in Hurricane on Aug. 26 are among the gigs the band has played or will be playing soon.
Lead singers P.T. Dabbs on guitar and Sherry Wilson Braid on percussion have fun doing what they do and play off of each other.
Braid's performance of "Proud Mary" is a tribute to the late Tina Turner. The pair's duet on "You're the One That I Want" evokes the spirit and youthful fun of the song made popular in "Grease."
The horn section gives the band a sound almost never heard in the Mid-Ohio Valley, a wailing horn section that knows how to kick it into high gear.
Led by founding member and trombonist, Mike Dotson, the Track 9 horns include saxophonist Tim Marks and trumpeter Eric Davis, and occasionally another founding member, saxophonist Buddy Lee. The horns breathe realism into songs by Chicago, Steely Dan and the Rolling Stones and newer songs by the Jonas Brothers and others.
The rhythm section consists of Mandy Philpott on keyboards, Nate Cunningham on lead guitar, Jeremy Harmon on basses and Roger Sheppard on drums and vocals.
The concert will be held at the bandshell. In the event of rain the show will be moved to the horseshoe pit.
Food vendors will be available for quick bites and water will be courtesy of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home.
