The Washington County Grand Jury this week indicted 11 people on charges ranging from drug possession to tampering with evidence.
According to a release from the county prosecutor's office, the following people were indicted:
∫ Charles Johnathan Burton, 40, 804 Hocking Road, Belpre, was indicted on four fifth-degree felony counts of breaking and entering and one count each of fifth-degree felony theft and third-degree felony tampering with evidence. He allegedly stole approximately $4,500 worth of items from Marietta Industrial Enterprises at 17943 Ohio 7, Marietta, between June 15-21. The tampering with evidence charge came from a July 5 incident in Belpre.
∫ Destiny Faye Castleberry, 41, last known address 701 N. Huron St., Wheeling, was indicted on a fourth-degree felony count of failure to appear after not attending a June 30 court proceeding in relation to a prior felony charge
∫ Chelsea Marie Curry, 33, and Joseph Franklin Wells Jr., 32, both of 34401 Ohio 7, Newport, were indicted on one fifth-degree felony count each of breaking and entering. They allegedly entered an unoccupied structure in the 3800 block of Sheets Run Road, New Matamoras, on June 27.
In a separate case, Wells was indicted on a fourth-degree felony count of receiving stolen property. In May, he allegedly received a four-wheeler that belonged to someone else and knew or had reason to believe it was obtained by theft.
Robert Dale Dalrymple, 46, 38685 Township Road 600, Sardis, was indicted on a fourth-degree felony count of grand theft of a motor vehicle, allegedly having taken the four-wheeler Wells received in May.
∫ Stephanie R. Luechtefeld, 34, 748 Ransom Road, Leasburg, Mo., was indicted on a fourth-degree felony count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and a fifth-degree felony count of aggravated possession of drugs. Both charges stem from a Nov. 3 incident at mile post 25 of Ohio 7 in Marietta in which she was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and had a loaded firearm accessible in a vehicle.
∫ Gurmel L. McDonald, 35, 101 Gibbons Lane, Apt. 2, Belpre, was indicted on a fifth-degree felony count of posession of drugs, alprazolam, and a second-degree misdemeanor count of obstructing official business. The incidents for which he was charged ocurred on Oct. 30, 2021, in the 800 block of Boulevard Drive in Belpre.
∫ Travis Merle Moore, 37, 222 Sheldon Ave., Marietta, was indicted on a third-degree felony count of perjury and a first-degree misdemeanor count of falsification. According to the indictment, the incidents occurred between Sept. 18 and Feb. 14.
∫ Shawn D. Parmer, 33, 4204 Emerson Ave., Parkersburg, was indicted on fifth-degree felony counts of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and receiving proceeds of an offense subject to forfeiture proceedings. On June 9, 2020, at mile post 15 of Interstate 77 at Macksburg, Parmer allegedly possessed meth and a fentanyl-related compound and had proceeds he knew or had reason to believe were derived from trafficking in drugs.
∫ Charles Wise, 53, last known address 729 Second Ave., Middleport, was indicted on a third-degree felony count of escape after an incident on June 13 at 27830 Ohio 7, Marietta.
∫ Derik Michael Wittekind, 32, 142 Colonial Ridge Circle, Apt. 18, Mooresville, N.C., was indicted on a third-degree felony charge of failure to verify address. Wittekind is required to verify information due to being registered as a sex offender. He was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in 2012.
