¯ Newport Township will hold a Special Meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at the Township Garage, 100 Merchant Street, Newport. The purpose is regarding an additional levy for the November ballot for staff expenses of the Newport EMS to provide 24/7 coverage.
¯ The location, date and time of the regular July meeting of the Fort Frye Board of Education has been changed to 5:30 p.m. today at the Salem Liberty Elementary School, 10930 OH-821, Lower Salem.
¯ The Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. August 4 at at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, 1400 Pike Street in Marietta. ¯ The OneOhio Region 12 Committee will meet on at 10 a.m. on August 11 at the Noble County Health Department located at 44069 Marietta Rd Caldwell, Ohio. The purpose of this meeting is to advance the process of developing scoring criteria for Region 12. The OneOhio Region 12 President will also give a presentation on both effective and absent resources in the battle against opioid addiction. ¯ It's back! The Marietta Branch Library Puzzle Exchange is back on 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Patrons are asked to drop off puzzles at the library's main desk. Puzzle pieces must be separated into zippered bags of 100 pieces and there must not be any missing pieces. Puzzles with missing pieces will be donated to the free table. Each person will receive one voucher per each puzzle accepted. The exchange will take place in the meeting room and patrons can choose from the puzzle collection. Patrons are permitted to take puzzles equal to the amount recorded of how many they donated. Have questions or want to drop off puzzles? ¯ The Alzheimer's Association offers professionally led groups for caregivers, individuals living with Alzheimer's and others dealing with the disease of dementia. All support groups are facilitated by trained individuals. Meetings in the area include: Marietta Support Group, 10-11:30 a.m. first Fridays at the O'Neill Center, 333 Fourth St., Marietta. ¯ The Ohio Department of Development and Washington-Morgan Community Action will launch the Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program to help income-eligible Ohioans assistance with paying an electric bill or assistance paying for an air conditioning unit, fans or central air conditioning repairs. The program runs until Sept. 30.
¯ Zumba classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Monday at the O'Neill Center. The cost is $5 per class or $25 for six classes. All ages welcome. For more information, call 740-373-3914.
