This weekend, downtown Marietta will be bustling with activity, since Marietta Main Street's Second Sunday event follows right on the heels of First Friday. With the Riverfront Roar wrapping up its annual event with a car show and power boat races, the afternoon guarantees to have fun for all ages.
Second Sundays are a summer feature of Marietta Main Street, offering more shopping and dining options than normal Sundays and highlighting unique, independently owned businesses. Visitors will find many shops open, along with several restaurants and food trucks. During the afternoon, the Washington-Morgan Community Action CABL bus will be providing a shuttle loop running between various stops downtown. It is wheelchair accessible and riders can get on and off at the various stops for a minimal fee.
Also for seniors, Rockstar Wellness will conduct sitting exercises on the Armory lawn from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
The businesses opening for Second Sunday include Clutch Collective, Dad's Primitive Workbench, Downtown Bargains, Emleigh's and Mama B's, Green Acres of Marietta, Hidden Marietta, Marietta Makery, Monsters Horde, Penny Pinchers, Sugar Maple Boutique, Threadz Boutique and Wit & Whimzy.
The Original Pizza Place will be open along with Levee House Bistro serving brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jimmy Avocado's food truck will be joined by Sips Coffee and Sno Biz.
Marietta Main Street is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to downtown revitalization using community and economic development and historic preservation strategies. Featured events and programs include First Fridays, downtown beautification, public art, small business support and Hometown.
