The grief after the loss of a loved one is difficult and different for everyone. Some need more time and help to handle and cope with this very emotional and spiritual journey. This 13-Week program is designed to learn how to walk the "Journey of Grief" and be supported along the way. It is a place where grieving, hurting people find healing and hope. If you or someone you know is having a difficult time dealing with the loss of a loved one, this program offers information and support to help them get through this difficult time.
Two programs, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, will be offered at Gilman United Methodist Church for 13 weeks, starting August 17 to allow those who work during the day to attend this grief support program. One group will meet on Thursday afternoons from 12-1:30 p.m. and the other group will meet on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. in the church's Fellowship Hall beginning August 17 and concluding November 9. In each session, the group will watch a video, featuring personal stories of those grieving the death of a loved one and hear encouraging information from leading grief recovery experts.
We will also have a discussion/sharing time together. There is a workbook provided at no charge for you to keep. This workbook includes daily exercises to help you grow and heal. The church is located at 312 Gilman Ave., in Marietta's Harmar Village.
You are invited to join us as we take this journey from Mourning to Joy.
