¯ The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at 4 p.m. on Monday in room H 108 of the Main Building.
¯ The Operations Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Aug. 24. The August regular meeting of the Warren Local Board of Education will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 24. Both meetings are at the Warren Transportation Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.

≤ The Parr Hill Community Church in Beavertown on Parr Hill Road south of New Matamoras will hold a 20th anniversary homecoming 4 p.m. Sunday. Food, a speaker and music are planned. Bring a lawn chair.
Craft Event
¯ The Marietta Branch Library is hosting a sunflower-themed craft event at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. This event is for ages 13 and up. Registration is required. To register, stop by the library or call 740-373-1057, ext. 200. The Marietta Branch Library is located at 615 Fifth Street, Marietta.
Flower and Seed Exchange
¯ A Bring One Take One Flower & Seed Exchange will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 26 at Upper Muskingum River Park, 500 block of Front Street, Marietta. The exchange starts at 10 a.m. Bring a plant, seeds or bulbs to share. Label each so the new owner will know the name, planting instructions, color, bloom seasons and other pertinent information.
Book Club
¯ The Literary Ladies Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Marietta Branch Library, 615 Fifth St., and discuss "The Gold in These Hills" by Joanne Bischof. The event is for ages 18 and older. To register, more information or to check out the book, call 740-373-1057, ext. 200.
Strengthening Families 10-14 Program
¯Family & Children First is sponsoring a fall session of the Strengthening Families 10-14 Program. The program, for parents and youth ages 10-14, is a parent, youth and family skill-building curriculum designed to build family strengths, strengthen parenting skills and prevent teen substance abuse and other behavior problems. The 7-week session is free, with dinner and child care provided, along with transportation assistance. The fall session runs from 5:30-8 p.m. Sept. 12 through Oct. 24, at the Ely Chapman Center in Marietta. For more information and to register, call 740-376-7081. Registration is limited.
Student Free/Reduced Lunch
¯The Washington County Career Center program year's policy for free/reduced lunch for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast is available at the High School Office.
