Aug. 1:
∫ Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Gilman Avenue about a disturbance. Upon arrival and through investigation it was learned that a woman went to the location to start problems with her ex. Melissa J. Jacobsen, 47, was cited for disorderly conduct.
∫ Marietta police and fire departments responded to the 900 block of Greene Street about a residential fire. The cause is still under investigation by the fire marshal, but arson is not suspected.
∫ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Third Street about the theft of a catalytic converter from a parked vehicle.
Aug. 2:
∫ Police responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of Fifth Street. Upon arrival, Larissa Kendall was found outside with her arm bleeding and the window to the back door broken. After further investigation it was found that Larissa Kendall struck her mother in the face. As a result, Larissa Kendall, 30, was taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of domestic violence.
Aug. 3:
∫ Police responded to a Faye Avenue address about a welfare check. Upon arrival the resident was having some mental health issues and was later transported to the hospital.
Aug. 4:
∫ Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Putnam Street about a stolen license plate complaint.
∫ Police were sent to Discount Signs and Awnings on Greene Street about a work truck being broken into and items being stolen.
Aug. 5:
∫ Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 200 block of Pike Street for a welfare check of a victim. It was determined that a domestic disturbance had occurred. James A. Henes Jr., 47, was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Washington County Jail.
∫ Police responded to a disturbance on Dawes Circle. Upon arrival, units made contact with a female who said a man was at her residence in violation of a court-issued protection order. The female said the male left the scene before officers arrived. The area was searched but he was not located.
Aug. 6:
∫ Police responded to the 700 block of Colegate Drive about a homeowner finding a firearm in their driveway. Police collected the firearm and other evidence to be stored for safekeeping.
∫ Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Colonial Drive about a complaint of theft from a vehicle. Officers made contact with the owner, who said the vehicle was found to have been entered the previous night and items were taken from it. Suspects have been identified and the case remains under investigation.
∫ Police responded to Tudor’s Biscuits on Pike Street about the theft of a motor vehicle. Through investigation, it was revealed that Justin Tyler Gibbs stole the vehicle. It was located at Quality Inn and returned to the owner. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Gibbs for theft of a motor vehicle.
∫ Police responded to the 100 block of Becker Lane about a theft from a vehicle. The victim said items were taken from the vehicle the previous night.
Aug. 7:
∫ Police were sent to the 400 block of Sixth Street about a theft. Upon arrival police were told that two unidentified males entered the victim’s vehicle and took cash from the glove box.
∫ Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Colegate Drive about the theft of medication.
