∫ Kaden Nicholas Way Thompson, 18, Cheshire, Ohio, possession of drugs, marijuana, a misdemeanor.

∫ Craig Vincent Ciulla, 42, Belpre, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.

∫ Dalton Cyrus Syme, 22, Marietta, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

∫ Charles Johnathan Burton, 40, Belpre, tampering with evidence, a felony.

∫ Sherman Lee Larrimore Jr., 41, Purgitsville, W.Va., sex offender failure to change/notify of address, a felony.

∫ David Mathew Loftus, 33, Marietta, parole violation, a felony.

∫ Bernard Alexander Cline Jr., 62, Belpre, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

∫ Adam Dale Mason, 39, Belpre, no operator’s license, a misdemeanor.

∫ Homer Melvin Fry, 58, Wingett Run, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

∫ Eric Shawn Owens, 43, Vincent, violation of protection order, a felony; domestic violence, violation of protection order and two counts of probation violations, all misdemeanors.

∫ Wesley Allen Mugrage, 35, Marietta, assault, a misdemeanor.

∫ Joseph Paige Ahue, 34, Albion, N.Y., OVI and contempt of court, both misdemeanors.

∫ Seth Taylor Venham, 37, Marietta, breach of recognizance and probation violation, both felonies.

∫ Steven Lawrence Kaiser, 43, Reedy, W.Va., contempt of court, (Guernsey County).

∫ Amber Rose Johnston, 39, Parkersburg, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies; and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors..

∫ Teresa Irene Hall, 31, New Matamoras, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

∫ Casey James Kiggans, 33, New Matamoras, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

∫ Alphonso Leasean Johnson, 33, Vienna, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

∫ June 29, Deputy Schwendeman began an investigation in Marietta Township about a residence entered and items removed.

∫ June 29, Deputy Gainer began an investigation into a theft/destruction of phone/cable lines.

∫ June 29, Deputy Eichhorn observed a Ford Ranger traveling north on Ohio 7, Marietta Township. Being unable to read the registration, he initiated a traffic stop. Contact was made with the driver, James Savage, along with passengers Kimberly Carter and Justin Gibbs. Savage gave consent to complete a search of the vehicle. All occupants were asked to step from the vehicle, at which time a burnt foil was observed on the passenger floorboard, along with a glass smoking device and several baggies. Deputy Wallace assisted at the scene, conducting a pat-down of Carter. While conducting the pat-down, a foreign object was felt between Carter’s legs. When questioned, Carter attempted to conceal the object further between her legs, finally advising there was a baggie of “fake Fentanyl” there. Also located was a small black bag containing a glass smoking device; a plunger for a hypodermic needle; 0.62 grams of powdery substance consistent with fentanyl; hypodermic needles and a baggie of 1.08 grams of suspected methamphetamine. James Lee Savage, 33, 6148 Parkersburg Road, Sandyville, W.Va.; Justin Tyler Gibbs, 31, 5235 Muskingum River Road, Lowell; and Kimberly Dawn Carter, 33, 2046 Lineback Road, Jackson, were placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail. Savage was charged with possession of drugs, Carter was charged with trafficking in drugs and Gibbs was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Once at the jail, Gibbs was asked if he had any further drugs in his possession and he said no. Gibbs was taken in through the intake doors and when correctional officers searched his person they located a clear plastic baggie containing a purple powdery substance weighing 0.45 grams, consistent with fentanyl. Gibbs was then charged with illegal conveyance of drugs.

∫ June 29, Sgt. Stillson was dispatched to Newport Township about an altercation involving Alecia Dawn Kitts. It was reported that Kitts was going to a residence to pick up her child, after being told not to do so. Kitts arrived intoxicated and an argument began with all the parties at the residence. Kitts made comments about assaulting a subject and then sprinted towards that subject, but she was stopped. Kitts was reported to have tried to do the same thing again, and eventually left. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in which Kitts was riding. Kitts, 36, homeless, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with menacing and disorderly conduct by intoxication.

∫ June 30, Sgt. Painter began an investigation into phone harassment. No further action needed.

∫ June 30, Deputy Young began an investigation in Muskingum Township about storage buildings being entered and items removed. The stolen items include but are not limited to weed eaters, leaf blowers, air compressor, vacuum parts, paint sprayer, cordless saw and tools.

∫ June 30, Deputy Gainer responded to Barlow Township in reference to the recovery of a Ford Ranger that had been stolen from Athens County.

∫ July 1, Deputies were called to check the welfare of a subject in Waterford Township.

∫ July 2 at 3:30 a.m., Deputy Young was dispatched for a report of a subject shooting a firearm in Ludlow Township. Deputy Young observed spent rounds on the front porch and proceeded to knock at the door, announcing his presence. Clinton Baldridge eventually came to the door and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from him. Baldridge was told why law enforcement was present and he confirmed he had discharged his firearms, pointing to where he had fired. Baldridge was reported to have been at a local residence consuming alcohol, trying to start a fight. Baldridge returned to his residence and began discharging firearms from his front porch in the direction of other residences. Contact was made with other occupants of the home, determining that three juveniles were in the home at the time. Arrangements were made for supervision for the minors. Clinton Marvin Baldridge, 46, 20549 Ohio 26, Wingett Run, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with weapons while intoxicated, aggravated menacing, child endangerment, and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises. Once at the jail, Baldridge’s portable breath test was .145 at 0546 hours.

∫ July 2, Sgt. Painter responded to the 100 block of Oak Hill Road, Fairfield Township, to assist with a traffic stop. The driver, Joseph A. Carpenter II, 65 Church St., Vincent, was stopped due to reckless operation of the vehicle, along with coming close to striking the patrol vehicle. Sgt. Painter was advised that Carpenter’s license was suspended. Carpenter was issued a citation for driving under suspension.

∫ July 2, Deputy Eichhorn responded to Marietta Health Systems, Belpre Campus in reference to a possible overdose that occurred in Barlow Township.

∫ July 2, Sgt. Parks was dispatched to a dog bite incident in Aurelius Township. The dog was taken to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.

∫ July 2, Deputy Eichhorn observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Newbury Road and US 50. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Wesley Roberts. Deputy Eichhorn observed in the vehicle a black cylinder commonly used as a marijuana grinder, which Roberts confirmed was used for marijuana. A check was made on Roberts, finding an active warrant from Monroe County. Roberts was placed under arrest on the warrant. A search of the vehicle revealed a folded up piece of paper containing 0.56 grams of a white powdery substance consistent with fentanyl, along with a brown box containing 1.21 grams of a white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine. Wesley O. Roberts, 31, 50 Meadowview Drive, Parkersburg, was taken to the Washington County Jail on the warrant and charged with possession of drugs.

∫ July 3, Deputy Thornberry, along with squad personnel, responded to Muskingum Township about a report of a deceased individual. No further followup was required.

∫ July 3, Deputy Schwendeman responded to Aurelius Township about a vehicle being located on an individual’s property. The vehicle was found to be stolen from Noble County.

∫ July 4, Deputy Schwendeman responded to the Lowell Dollar General, 10200 Ohio 60, about Kurtis Matthew Walters possibly being impaired and acting erratically. Dispatch was advised that Walters got into a vehicle and drove to the Duke and Duchess station. The vehicle was located, along with Walters. Walters was observed staggering and swaying and sweating profusely. Walters was asked to step outside to speak with deputies, which he agreed to do. Walters had slurred speech and was almost incoherent at times. Walters admitted to driving to the store, but said he would probably be walking home, admitting to having a suspended driver’s license. Walters was advised that it was believed he was impaired and asked him to perform field sobriety tests, which he agreed to. Walters was unable to complete several of the tests and nearly fell over while trying, saying to just take him to jail if deputies needed to. Walters also admitted to smoking methamphetamine within the previous 12 hours. A consent to search was obtained from Walters. Located inside the vehicle was drug paraphernalia and a bag of suspected drugs. Kurtis Matthew Walters, 30, 1455 East Branch Road, Lowell, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail. Walters was charged with second-offense OVI and driving under suspension.

∫ July 4, Deputy Peters, along with K9 Timmy, were patrolling Ohio 7, Newport Township, when he observed a vehicle with Ohio registration making a marked lanes violation. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with Erron S. Bennett. While speaking with him, Bennett would not make eye contact and was acting very nervous. When asked if he had anything illegal in the vehicle, he stated no. K9 Timmy was deployed and a free air sniff was conducted around the vehicle, showing a positive indication on the driver’s side front door. A search revealed 6.7 grams of methamphetamine along with a loaded .22 revolver. Erron Scott Bennett, 37, 165 Pauline Ave., Akron, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail for possession of drugs and weapons under disability.

∫ July 5, Lt. Brown responded to 2200 Murray St., Unit 2, Blennerhassett Township, to attempt to serve a warrant on Craig Ciulla, 42. Contact was made with Ciulla, who was confirmed to have a warrant from the Circuit Court of Wood County for burglary and destruction of property. The date of birth and the Social Security number provided on the warrant were compared to the information provided by Ciulla, determining he was the subject wanted on the warrant. A charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Ciulla and he was taken to the Washington County Jail for processing.

∫ July 5, deputy Windland was dispatched to Fairfield Township about a subject being scammed out of $20.

∫ July 6, Deputies responded to an investigation into a resident being followed in the Pioneer Township, Muskingum Township and Marietta Township areas.

∫ July 7, Sgt. Martin began an investigation into a timbering complaint in Warren Township.

∫ July 7, Deputy Thornberry began an investigation into a stolen cell phone from Dunham Township.

∫ July 8 Lt. Tucker was made aware that current jail inmate William Joseph Witten, 55, 101 Skyvue Circle, Marietta, had a warrant out of Pleasants County, W.Va. Witten is wanted pending a hearing for revocation of bail. Information on the warrant was checked with information received when Witten was booked into the jail, finding him to be the individual wanted by Pleasants County. A charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Witten.

∫ July 8, Deputy Wallace was patrolling Muskingum Township when she observed a vehicle go left of center into the other lane of traffic. A traffic stop was conducted and the sole occupant and driver was found to be Mark D. Sands. Sands stated he had been drinking at the beer garden on this date. Sands’ eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred. Sands was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he did poorly. Sands had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person once he exited the patrol car. He was taken to the Marietta City Police Department for a blood alcohol content test. Sands refused to complete the test. Mark David Sands, 40, 601 Chamberlain Drive, Marietta, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and driving in marked lanes.

∫ July 8, Deputy Eichhorn responded to Burnfield Road, Belpre Township, about a possible domestic dispute in progress. After completing the investigation Aaron Michael Frechette, 41, 128 Burnfield Road, Little Hocking, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and violation of a protection order. Frechette was taken to the Washington County Jail.

∫ July 10, Deputy Eichhorn began an investigation into an accidental gunshot wound to a hand/finger.

∫ July 10, Deputy Wallace was on patrol in Marietta Township when she observed a vehicle with peeling and poorly lit registration. The driver was also observed making furtive movements inside the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Nicholas Boley, 1004 Grandview Ave., New Matamoras, gave consent to search his vehicle. Boley said the red bag on the passenger side belonged to another individual and he wasn’t sure what it contained but mentioned it could possibly be methamphetamine. Found were baggies, two smoking devices and a baggie of suspected methamphetamine weighing 0.5 grams. Nicholas Dewayne Boley, 38, was placed under arrest for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Boley was taken to the Washington County Jail.

∫ July 10, Deputy Norris completed a private property accident report in Marietta Township.

∫ July 10, Deputy Norris began an investigation in Marietta Township regarding damage and theft from a unit/business.

∫ July 11, Sgt. Painter was on patrol in Warren Township, Ohio 7, when he observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The speed was confirmed at 90 mph in a 60 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and a citation for speed was issued to Austin R. Ash, 710 Belrock Ave., Apt. 119, Belpre.

∫ July 11, Deputy Harlow and squad personnel were dispatched to check the welfare of an individual in Fairfield Township.

∫ July 12, Deputy Schwendeman responded 34401 Ohio 7, Newport Township, to a report by Joseph Wells, stating he was chased around the yard and threatened with a knife by his on-again off-again girlfriend, Chelsea M. Curry. After completing the investigation Chelsea M. Curry, 34, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.

∫ July 12, Deputy Schwendeman responded to a business in Marietta Township to recover a baggie of what is believed to be methamphetamine, located on the business floor.

∫ July 13, while patrolling Ohio 60 at Arends Ridge Road, Muskingum Township, Deputy Wallace observed a vehicle driven by a subject with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted with the sole occupant, Gordon Woodford, who advised he was not suspended and had taken care of his reinstatement months ago. Woodford stated he was coming home from work and had driving privileges. A review of the privileges letter revealed it had expired in December 2022 Gordon R. Woodford, 218 Main St., Lowell, was cited for driving under suspension.

∫ July 12, Deputy Gainer received a report from Robert Henthorn that Brandon Mayle was going onto his property and making threats. Mayle also called 911, reporting Henthorn pointed a gun at him and discharged the weapon. Mayle and Henthorn were arguing with each other over the phone about Mayle calling an ex-friend constantly. Henthorn stated to Mayle that if he was going to make threats then he could come to the house. Mayle showed up at Henthorn’s residence and Henthorn exited the residence with a handgun and pointed it at Mayle. Mayle was still sitting in his vehicle when Henthorn discharged the firearm in an attempt to scare Mayle. Henthorn denied ever discharging the handgun, however later admitted to discharging it towards a field. Henthorn also stated he had six beers that evening. Robert Scott Henthorn, 41, 2615 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, was charged with aggravated menacing and using weapons while intoxicated. Upon arrival at the jail Robert Henthorn blew a portable breath test of .084. Mayle continued to call the ex-friend while deputies were on scene and he was advised to cease contact, which upset Mayle. Mayle stated he was going to come to the residence and cause harm to Henthorn. Bandon Duane Mayle, 37, 21345 McGraw Road, Stewart, was charged with menacing. Mayle was taken to the Washington County Jail.

∫ July 13, Deputy Gainer began an investigation into a scam where the subject lost $199.

∫ July 13, Sgt. Painter and Deputy Thornberry were dispatched to Beach Drive about an aggravated burglary. After completing the investigation it was determined that Melissa K. Sprouse, 55, 2702 Linden Ave., Parkersburg, was at the residence and threatened harm to another individual. A warrant was requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court for Sprouse on a charge of aggravated burglary – inflict harm.

∫ Aaron Michael Frechette, 41, Little Hocking, violating a protection order and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
