∫ July 13, Deputy Eichhorn was advised that Wood County authorities were in pursuit of a beige Nissan Altima, Ohio registration, northbound on I-77 headed toward Washington County. Deputy Eichhorn sat stationary at the I-77 bridge while an Ohio State Highway Patrol officer utilized stop sticks, which appeared to strike the suspect vehicle’s tires.Deputy Eichhorn followed behind Parkersburg Police and a Wood County Sheriff’s Department unit in an attempt to catch up to the suspect vehicle. At the 1-mile marker of I-77 the driver crossed the median, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of travel. The driver then crashed into the guardrail, coming to a stop. At that time Joshua Williams was identified as the driver of the vehicle and taken into custody. Joshua Shawn Williams, 38, 1020 Swann St., Apt. 2, Parkersburg, was charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. Williams was taken to the Washington County Jail.
∫ July 13, Deputy Wallace was dispatched to Jett Hill Road, Newport Township, for a report of Warren Harmon being out of control at a residence. Harmon was reported to have been consuming alcoholic beverages and firing a pistol, then pointing the firearm at an individual before leaving the area. While deputies were on scene Harmon returned to the residence. Harmon was taken into custody without incident and was assisted to the patrol vehicle because he was unsteady on his feet. Harmon’s speech was slow and slurred. He admitted to drinking and shooting the pistol into the hill, stating he had not pointed the gun at anyone. Harmon was taken to the Marietta City Police Department for a blood alcohol concentration test, with the results being .0116. Warren Andrew Harmon, 58, 360 Jett Hill Road, Marietta, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, domestic violence and using weapons while intoxicated.
∫ July 14, Deputy Windland, along with the Newport Volunteer Fire Department, responded to Newport Township to a report of a deceased individual.
∫ July 14, Deputy Windland responded to Belpre Township about a report of Marie Pino removing an individual’s medication and consuming it. While speaking with Pino she admitted to taking the medication while the homeowner was sleeping and confirmed she did not have permission to take the medication. Marie T. Pino, 68, 2406 15th Ave., Vienna, was placed under arrest and charged with theft. Pino was taken to the Washington County Jail.
∫ July 14 Jail staff became aware of an active warrant out of Wood County Magistrate Court for Joshua Shawn Williams, 38, 1020 Swann St., Apt. 2, Parkersburg. The warrant was for fleeing from an officer. Information was checked with information provided by Williams upon being processed into the Washington County Jail and he was found to be the wanted subject. A charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Williams.
∫ July 15 Deputy Tucker was dispatched to an alarm at a business on Starlite Drive, Marietta Township, where a broken window was discovered.
∫ July 15 Deputy Norris was dispatched to the intersection of Pleasants Ridge Road and Ohio 26 in regard to an ATV accident. Reno Squad had taken the subject before Deputy Norris arrived. A private property accident report was completed.
