Craft show
¯ Gilman United Methodist Church is hosting its Fall Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. Representatives of the church, at 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta, say "handmade gifts are always appreciated!"
Food and beverages will be available for purchase; and there is parking available beside the church.
Meeting Notices
¯ Frontier Local Economic Development Association will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Newport Elementary School. Meet and greet will be at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting to start at 6 p.m. Any one interested in economic development in Frontier Local School District is invited to attend.
Swap and Stroll
¯ The final Shop Swap and Stroll, a shopping, dining and social opportunity for the area, for the year will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday on Buell Island in Lowell. Admission is free. A farmers market, craft show, flea market and a yard sale are planned. Participation is free for vendors, although the Village of Lowell requires a fee for a food truck/vendor. Vendor spaces are first-come, first-served. Donations are appreciated and go toward upkeep and maintenance of Buell Park.
Golf Scramble
¯ The Washington County Republican Party will hold its annual Golf Scramble Friday at Lakeside Golf Course in Beverly. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Fees for the four-person scramble is $300 per team. Package includes greens fees, cart, skins, refreshments and steak dinner. Fundraiser
¯ The Zonta Club of the MOV will sponsor its Delicates for Dignity Fundraiser through the end of October to support underprivileged girls and women in the community by providing feminine hygiene products, new bras and underwear. Items will be distributed at food pantries, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters and middle and high schools. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 634, Marietta, OH 45750. Venmo monetary donations can be made to @zontamov. Feminine hygiene products, bra and undies may be dropped off at Advantage Real Estate, 103 Putnam St., Marietta. Class Reunion
¯ The Marietta High School Class of 1973 will hold a 50th reunion celebration this weekend. The class will kick off events with a reunion golf outing for family, friends and classmates on Friday morning. Classmates will gather 6-10 p.m. Friday at the Lafayette Hotel Gun Room for cocktails and reminiscing. The celebration will continue 4-10 p.m. Saturday with a BBQ dinner ($25 per person) featuring music by The Chunga Sound Machine.
