The Memorial Health Foundation Fund Run Glow on Friday raised more than $10,000 in support of healthcare initiatives.
About 160 participants participated to raise funds for: Bridges Forward Stroke & Brain Injury Support, which provides community-based exercise programs for stroke or neurologically injured individuals; Diabetes Education, which offers educational support at low or no cost to patients living with diabetes; and Bariatric Exercise, which offers exercise opportunities to patients seeking to improve their health and achieve weight loss goals.
"We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our community," Jarrett Stull, executive director of Memorial Health Foundation, said.
Stull was grateful for the community support.
"The Fund Run Glow plays a crucial role in allowing us to assist patients in need," he said. "This year's event not only raised much-needed funds but also showcased the spirit of unity within our community."
Among highlights of the event was the Provider Power Dash featuring healthcare providers who practice with Memorial Health System. Chad Showen, physician's assistant, was the winner in the male category and in the female category Amber Tebay clinched the victory in a close race. A Noah Zacharias, a young student, won the one-mile race with a time of 6:51.58.
"Running in the Fund Run was an absolute blast! I had so much fun, and it was great to see a lot of people like my friends coming together to support a great cause," Zacharias said.
