Oct. 17:
¯ Police were dispatched to the Knox Street Apartments on Second Street about a male subject unresponsive in a green Kia 4-door vehicle. Police requested the Marietta Fire Department to check on the male. A K-9 sniff for illegal narcotics indicated on the driver’s door. Meth, paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments were seized from the driver’s door. The meth will be sent to the lab for testing.
Oct. 18:
¯ Police responded to Bridgeport Equipment on Acme Street about a theft that occurred Oct. 13.
Police responded to the Dollar General on Gross Street about a theft complaint. An investigation was conducted and resulted in two women receiving summonses for theft.
Oct. 19:
¯ Police were dispatched to the Lafayette Hotel about a male trespassing on the property. The male had fled prior to the officer’s arrival but had previously been told by the officer he was not to be in the hotel. A warrant will be requested for criminal trespass.
¯ Police were dispatched to Kroger on Acme Street about a theft report. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the loss prevention office, which advised there was a male who had conducted multiple thefts over the past two months. The case remains under investigation.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Oakwood Avenue about the theft of a freon tank. It was learned that Edward R. Conley, 58, had stolen a 20-pound freon tank from the garage at the complainant’s address. Conley was arrested and charged with theft.
Oct. 20:
¯ Police responded to Walmart about a theft. Through investigation, it was found that Samantha D. Evans, 30, failed to pay for $91 worth of items before she passed the last point of sale. She was placed under arrest and then released on a personal recognizance bond.
¯ Police responded to Walmart about a shoplifting complaint. After investigation, it was learned that Rory Lynn Jett, 23, had stolen multiple items valued at $61. Jett was arrested for theft and released on a personal recognizance bond.
Oct. 21:
¯ Police stopped a vehicle for several traffic violations. Morgan Wayne Tippie, 27, was later arrested for OVI, flashing red light, open container and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle while intoxicated. Tippie’s test for blood alcohol content registered .221. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Police investigated a private property accident at Walmart. When the information of one of the parties involved was checked, it was found that he had a warrant from Wood County. Dispatch contacted Wood County and confirmed the warrant. Falcon Owens, 29, was arrested and a fugitive from justice charge was completed. He was later taken to Washington County Jail.
¯ An officer began a search for Felicia D. Wallace, 33, who had an active warrant. She was located walking with a man in the Walmart parking lot. The man, Charles Brandon Ball, 32, threw a purse to the ground and fled on foot from officers. Ball was captured and arrested for obstruction, while Wallace was arrested for her warrant.
