Get with the Guidelines-Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines.
Numerous published studies demonstrate the program's success in achieving measurable patient outcome improvements.
Get with the Guidelines utilizes the expertise of the Heart Association for hospitals by helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest research and evidence-based guidelines.
The program increases healthy days at home and reduce hospital readmissions for heart failure patients.
To bring attention to this critical high-risk population, the Heart Association established the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognition opportunity.
Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognizes hospitals for providing the most up-to-date, evidence-based care for patients with type 2 diabetes who are hospitalized with heart failure, heart attack or stroke."
"These honors from the American Heart Association reflect the work and dedication of our health care teams as they provide the best and safest care possible to our patients," Heather Malcomb, quality stroke data abstractor, said.
Marietta Memorial Hospital and the emergency room at Belpre Medical Campus are certified as Primary Stroke Centers by Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program, which is reserved for hospitals that exceed national standards for stroke care.
