ReFashion Show looking for contestants

HUNTINGTON -- The 21st annual ReFashion Show sponsored by the Recycling Coalition of West Virginia will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Huntington Mall near Macy's.
The coalition is inviting amateur models and designers from West Virginia to highlight their outfits made from recyclable materials.
ReFashion Show outfits can be made from a range of materials, such as newspaper, aluminum cans, cardboard, plastic water bottles, paper products and other waste products destined for the recycling center or a landfill.
The show is open to any age. Participants are divided into two age categories, 13 and under and 14 and over, based on the age of the designer, not the model. Themed categories include the Shopping Challenge, Newspaper Challenge, Cosplay Comic-Con and General.
Winners in each age category will receive $250 for first place, $150 for second and $100 for third. The themed category winners receive a $50 gift card.
Registration is on the day of the event beginning at 11 a.m. Models under 18 must have parental consent.

The Recycling Coalition of West Virginia is a nonprofit environmental organization promoting the effective and sustainable reduction, reuse and recycling of materials otherwise destined for disposal. The coalition promotes the purchase of products made from recycled materials, coordinates activities about recycling and fosters communication among organizations, government agencies and individuals through the sharing of ideas and resources.
