Wolf Creek BOE discusses bathroom renovations

WATERFORD -- Wolf Creek Local School District Board of Education heard a presentation from construction firm Venergy, a national construction firm, regarding a $852,796 renovation project for Waterford High School's bathrooms and conference room space at the monthly meeting Monday.
Two representatives from Venergy, Gary Orr, Director of Sales, and Adam Grubb, Project Manager, brought a slideshow presentation for the board and approximately 20 meeting attendees.
Venergy is a national firm with a regional office in Columbus. The firm has over 35 clients in southeastern Ohio.
Suellen Coleman, Waterford High School principal, said the renovations would entail the first and third floor bathrooms in the high school building. Orr said one of the features of the bathroom stalls would include more privacy. He estimated the stalls would have between 24-30 inches of space. The project would move forward if the board approved the contract.
Orr said Venergy could finalize the contract if the board voted on their resolution.
"What we're asking for tonight is for you to pass the resolution," Orr said. "Once it's passed, we will draw up the contract and we'll work with you on the design details and colors."
The presentation stopped when Venergy was discussing floor type specifications in the project. The board, Superintendent Doug Baldwin, and Coleman met with Orr and Grubb to discuss the discrepancy.
After the discussion, board president Hugh Arnold said the board would vote on the proposal during its Nov. 20 meeting.
"The presentation had a lot, but there was some information missing," Coleman said. "We met with Project Lead John Saxton last week and he wasn't able to be here tonight. We're going to get more information and give it to the board members."
