Zonta Club preparing for Unique Boutique
The Zonta Club of the Mid-Ohio Valley is preparing for its fall Unique Boutique sale.
The organization, a group of area professionals who work to empower women and girls through service and advocacy at the local and national levels, holds the sale twice a year. This fall’s event will occur Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Reno Community Center.
Club Co-Chair Chris Lisk said donations are accepted from community members for a variety of gently used items in women’s, men’s and children’s clothing; jewelry; and handbags. Items will be priced between 50 cents and $10. On Saturday, customers will have the option to fill a bag for $10 starting at noon.
The club will accept donations at Reno Community Center from Monday to Thursday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Lisk said she enjoys working with the community to provide a place to give back.
“I like working together and setting it up with my club members,” she said. “We love sorting the clothes and shopping. We manage to get it all done.”
Lisk said the sale has been popular because shoppers know it’s benefiting others.
“They like having a place to shop and knowing it goes back to the community,” she said.
Lisk said the group gets repeat customers who both donate and attend the sale.
“We have a lot of repeat customers, both giving clothing and shopping. When the sale starts, I’ve seen 100 people waiting to get in.”
Proceeds from the sale go to Zonta Club’s service projects, such as scholarships at Washington State Community College.
