Oct. 7:
¯ Deputies assisted the Marietta Police Department attempting to locate a hit/skip vehicle.
¯ A deputy responded to assist an employee who was being harassed by a family member at their employment.
¯ Deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Little Hocking VFD on a crash in Belpre Township.
¯ Deputies met with an individual who stated a child assaulted them. The child was counseled on his behavior and options explained to the parents.
¯ A deputy responded to a call of target shooting ricocheting onto another property. The shooter was contacted and will be checking his targets and the area surrounding them.
¯ Deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a search for an individual.
¯ A deputy was patrolling I-77, Salem Township, when he observed a sedan bearing a Florida registration that had expired in 2021. A traffic stop was conducted with Benjamin Howard Lowry Jr., Ecorse, Mich. He was issued a citation for expired registration.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail on Oct.10:
¯ Joseph Jay Chamberlain, 43, Marietta, public indecency, a misdemeanor, voyeurism and possession of criminal tools, both felonies.
¯ Demond Deandre Williams, 31, Cleveland, driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.
¯ Hannah Kay Westfall, 28, Parkersburg, falsification, a misdemeanor.
¯ Teresa Irene Hall, 32, New Matamoras, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
¯ James Kenneth Abraham, Marietta, aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor.
Oct. 8:
¯ Deputies assisted the Marietta PD, who were requesting a K9.
¯ Deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol, who were requesting a K9.
¯ Deputies assisted an individual who believed someone was in a lower apartment. The subject was needing medical attention and was given medical attention.
¯ Deputies assisted at a location where subjects were going through the dumpsters. The business permits the activity.
¯ A deputy assisted the Lowell PD with a reported domestic incident.
¯ Deputies assisted the Vienna PD in locating an individual in Washington County.
¯ A deputy responded to a report of a parent throwing a bottle at a juvenile. Subjects were counseled on their behavior.
¯ A deputy began an investigation into a break-in at the Beverly Medical Clinic.
¯ A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle on a subject’s property. The vehicle was a stolen vehicle reported to the Marietta PD.
¯ A deputy was traveling north on Ohio 7, Warren Township, when a gray Jeep passed him traveling at a speed above the posted speed limit. The vehicle registration was observed to have expired in 2021. A traffic stop was initiated and a citation was issued to William Sean Lovelady, 3701 River Road, Vienna, for expired registration and a warning on the speed violation.
¯ Deputies assisted by the Barlow VFD Squad responded about a deceased male in Barlow Township.
¯ A deputy observed a sedan with a West Virginia registration traveling south at the four-mile marker on I-77, Pioneer Township. While traveling behind the vehicle the deputy saw the vehicle slow to 60 mph in a posted 70 mph zone and swerve multiple times, touching the fog line and centerline of the right lane, almost crossing completely in the left lane. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Christopher Parsley. Parsley granted consent to complete a search of the vehicle for any illegal contraband. While searching the vehicle a plastic straw with white powder residue on it, commonly seen with drugs, was located. A search of Parsley revealed a brown baggie with 0.39 grams of a white powdery substance and a glass smoking device. Parsley advised the white substance was cocaine. While speaking with Parsley he attempted to obtain the suspected cocaine and destroy it by dumping it out. Christopher C. Parsley, 43, Rt 1 Box 171D, Williamson, W.Va., was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
Oct. 9:
¯ A deputy removed debris that was in the road at Burnett Road and Ohio 550 and at Barnett Ridge Road and Veto Road.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail Oct. 11:
¯ Taylor Alan Rogers, 25, Marietta, domestic violence, a misdemeanor; and strangulation, a felony.
¯ Donald Douglas Davidson III, 59, Marietta, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Fifteen women and 84 men were housed in the Washington County Jail.
Oct. 10:
¯ A report of possible items stolen from a newly purchased property was made. Subject was advised of his civil rights.
¯ A report was made of a breaking and entering. Subject wanted officers to have the subject return the items and stay off the property.
¯ A deputy responded to Marietta Township about a suspicious person in a residence. The caller met with deputies at the side door of his residence and invited them into an area where James Abraham pulled a small black handgun from his back-right pocket and turned around to face the deputy. The handgun was being held at waist level, pointed directly at the deputy. Abraham was advised to put his firearm on the counter but he continued to wave the gun around. Eventually he put the firearm on the counter after being told to do so multiple times. Abraham said the pistol was for the person inside his house. The firearm was seized from Abraham and found to be a 9mm Taurus handgun with eight bullets in the magazine, including a bullet in the chamber. James Kenneth Abraham, 67, 1195 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, charged with aggravated menacing.
Oct. 11:
¯ A deputy assisted the Ohio State Patrol at an accident scene in Belpre Township.
¯ A deputy began an investigation into the misuse of a credit/debit card.
¯ A deputy assisted the Reno VFD squad with a deceased subject.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail Oct. 12:
¯ Dwayne E Wilson Jr., 33, Marietta, contempt of court (Monroe County).
¯ Darren Michael Mallett, 24, Zanesville, breaking and entering, a felony.
Twelve women and 82 men were in the Washington County Jail.
