33 indicted by Washington County grand jury

A Marietta man was indicted on several charges of importuning as well as escape among other charges by a Washington County Grand Jury Thursday.

Joshua Lee Campbell, 23, 102 Summit Rd., Marietta, allegedly escaped Dec. 4 while under supervised release detention for importuning and was charged with a third-degree felony count for the escape, two fourth-degree felonies for importuning, one first-degree misdemeanor count of falsification, and one second-degree misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

Campbell is a registered tier one sex offender due to a previous incident. He was investigated as a suspect in an unlawful sexual conduct minor case while being an employee of an after school program during March 2020. Campbell pleaded guilty and was convicted of importuning in March 2022.

Around Nov. 30 of this year, the Marietta Police Department initiated an investigation into Campbell having electronic communication with a juvenile female, according to detectives with the MPD.

On Dec. 4 Campbell was transported to the Washington County Jail and was charged with importuning, a fourth-degree felony. Campbell appeared Dec. 5 in Marietta Municipal Court and was being held on $15,000 plus a personal recognizance bond.

Thirty-two other defendants were indicted.

* Co-defendants Bruce Allen Ferguson, 38, 922 Front St., Marietta, and Christy Lynn Ayers, 44, 22579 SR 60, Beverly, were indicted on charges of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, and a combined charge of aggravated possession of drugs, also a fifth-degree felony, from Aug. 6.

* Steven Joey Granger, 40, 2342 Sealy Ridge Rd., Vincent, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from September 2022.

* Hunter L. Lane, 24, 3901 Amber Lane, Timmonsville, S.C., was indicted on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a 1999 Toyota Camry, a fourth-degree felony, from November 2021.

* Kyle D. West, 26, 1960 E Pike St., Zanesville, was indicted on a charge of conspiracy, with purpose to commit or promote or facilitate the commission of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from September 2021.

* Eric Christopher Anderson, 35, 23 Cherry St., Vincent, was indicted on charges of one count of forgery and two counts of theft, all fifth-degree felonies, from Oct. 23.

* Mathew Collin Murray, 24, 6450 Tuckers Creek Rd., Elizabeth, W.Va., was indicted on a charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, from Nov. 12.

* Michael James Hudson, 45, 1612 Slaters Creek Rd., Goodlettsville, Tenn., was indicted on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a 2006 Mazda Truck, a fourth-degree felony, theft of a credit card, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanor theft of miscellaneous property, a first-degree misdemeanor, from July 27.

* Kevin Jason Tucker, 44, 2668 Barnett Ridge Rd., Fleming, was indicted on a charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, from Oct. 29.

* Scott Michael Zimmerman, 44, Waterford, was indicted on charges of disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony, and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor, from Oct. 26.

* Co-defendants Ashlee Nicole Haught, 31, 101 Theis Ave., Lot 6, Marietta, and Derek Eugene Boice, 37, 27360 SR 7, Lot 17, Marietta, were indicted on charges of two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, all fifth-degree felonies, from April 2022.

* James D. Stidham, 65, 1200 E. Cutshall Rd., Scottsburg, Ind., was indicted on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, and four counts of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth and fifth-degree felony, as well as fourth-degree misdemeanors, from May 2022. Also included were specifications for forfeitures of four separate weapons.

* Casey James Kiggans, 30, 2060 State Route 260, New Matamoras, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from December 2022.

* Joel Anthony Snyder, 38, 311 Maple St., Belpre, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from April 19.

* Shiloh Wade Peaytt, 35, 111 N Hart St., Apt. 7, Marietta, was indicted on charges of felonious assault, a first-degree felony, assault, a fourth-degree felony, obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, resisting arrest and domestic violence, both first-degree misdemeanors, from Nov. 14.

* Adam Ray Cooper DBA Cooper Construction Inc., 37, 365 Barton Ln., Rockport, was indicted on a charge of aggravated theft, of funds designated for construction and contractor expenses, a third-degree felony, from June 2021.

* Steven Dallas Oltman, 68, 6581 Cedar Court East, Galloway, was indicted on a charge of theft, a check for the amount of $3,000, a fifth-degree felony, from July 11 through 14.

* Chad Christopher Mencini, 28, 313 Fourth St., Beverly, was indicted on charges of two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felonies, from March 2022.

* Grace Alivia White McMannis, 33, 1021 N Main St., Malta, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from March 2022.

* William Joseph Bills, 45, 1130 Hebron Rd., Saint Marys, W.Va., was indicted on a charge of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, from March 2022.

* Raymond Floyd Goodwin, Jr., 30, 307 Maple St, Marietta, was indicted on charges of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies, from June 2022.

* Jack Marshall McCleese, 56, 2705 Lake Rd., Apt. B, Fleming, was indicted on charges of burglary, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, from Oct. 11.

* William Earl Crothers, III, 44, 1616 Pearcy Ave., Parkersburg, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, from Aug. 26.

* Charles Dustin Stanley, 34, 906 17th St., Parkersburg, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, from Oct. 25.

* Jason Christopher Fleeman, 43, 711 Ninth St., Marietta, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from December 2022.

* Carl Dennis Robison, 30, 235 Johnson Rd., Marietta, was indicted on charges of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both first-degree felonies; trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, aggravated trafficking of drugs, and aggravated possession of drugs, all third-degree felonies, from Oct. 23. Also included was specification of forfeiture of money, a cell phone, and a scale in a drug case.

* Jessica Ann Oakley, 33, 1490 Coal Run Hill Rd., Lowell, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from May 18.

* Christina Renee Garland, 57, 1120 Luke Chute Rd., Waterford, was indicted on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a 2022 Kia Soul, a fourth-degree felony, from September 2022.

* Andrew James Christopher Carpenter, 27, 906 Fourth St., Marietta, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, from Jan. 22.

* Alexander Ray Rector, 21, 708 Front St., Marietta, was indicted on charges of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or a school safety zone, a second-degree felony, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, a fifth-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony, from December 2022. Also included were several firearm specifications and a specification for forfeiture of a weapon.

* Shawn Eugene Covey, 46, Marietta, was indicted on charges of strangulation, a third-degree felony, and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor, from Nov. 16.
