Four arrested on drug, weapons charges

Four individuals have been arrested on drug and weapons related charges after the execution of a search warrant in Adams Township, the Washington County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday via press release.

The release said the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force conducted a search warrant at 1220 East Branch Road. Agents discovered Jody Wright, Brianna Messick, and Harold Joy in the living room. Thomas Joy was out in the garage,

Messick, 27, of 303 Camp Ave., Marietta, was secured due to an active arrest warrant. She was also in possession of 1.44 grams of suspected fentanyl, the release stated. She was charged with possession of drugs, a third-degree felony.

Wright, 44, of 1220 East Branch Road, told officers that she had marijuana, a firearm and digital scales in her room. She was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, possession of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, and permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony.

Thomas Joy, 34, of 1195 East Branch Road, Lowell, was secured due to a loaded .40 caliber handgun located directly behind him, the release said.

He isn't permitted to be around or own firearms due to a previous conviction. Agents located three boxes of .40 cal. ammo and .36 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his bedroom.

Harold Joy, 59, of 1195 East Branch Road, Lowell, was charged with permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony.

During the search, officers also located two firearms, marijuana, clear baggies and 23.33 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

All subjects were transported to the Washington County Jail, and appeared in Marietta Municipal Court Wednesday for their initial hearing.

Messick is being held on $20,000 bond and also on a holder from Adult Parole. Wright is being held on $20,000 bond. Harold Joy is being held on $2,500 bond and Thomas Joy is being held on $20,000 bond.
