BELPRE — Belpre City Schools announced Friday afternoon that Belpre Elementary School will be closed Monday due to the failure of its heating system.

In posts on the district’s website and Facebook page, officials said due to the type of problem and the age of the heating system, custom parts need to be ordered.

Crews will work throughout the weekend to maintain the system while waiting for the parts to arrive.

The elementary school will be closed Monday with a possibility of additional days, the post said. Parents will be notified by 5 p.m. each evening if another day of closure is required.

Grades 7-12 and local pre schools will operate as normal, the post said.
