Marietta celebrates 68 years of Kiwanis Club Pancake Days
“Pancake Days is the club’s largest fundraiser. All the proceeds go back into our community,” said the club’s co-chairs John Halliday and Donovan Peoples. “It supports our services such as landscaping projects at the Middle School and High School, maintenance of Lookout Park, Terrific Kids at Washington School, Picnic Shelter by the Marietta College Boathouse, Marietta Picnic Pavilion-Flanders Field donation, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, volunteering for The Right Path and donations to Community Food Pantries.”
“Another fun feature to the weekend is our auction. There’s a raffle and silent auction both days featuring items from local businesses and Kiwanians. We have everything from themed gift baskets to jewelry and paintings,” Michelle Secrest said. “Baskets will feature For the Love of Coffee, Win a Lotto, Back the Blue, Spring Gardening, Par Tee on the Green (golf), Lock N Lock, Wine Down, Ice Cream Sundae, Valentines Day, Paw Patrol, Blue Jackets tickets, Play Doh, Hot wheels, Kids Bakery, Hotel Lafayette for one night with breakfast, Ukulele with tuner, book lessons, Wellness Retreat gift certificate, Yellowstone and more plus merchandise from local businesses. It really is worth the time to check it out.”
The raffle elite items are an Apple watch, Yeti cooler, Kayak, LIV Alight 24″ Youth bicycle with helmet, Samsung TV and restaurant gift cards.
Tickets are on sale and can be purchased from any Kiwanis member for $10. Children under five eat free with any ticket holder. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, two sausage patties, orange slices and beverages. The event will be held from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 and from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at their new location, Broughton Community Building, located at 619 State Route 821.
