Jan. 9

¯ Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 800 block of Pike Street in reference to a disturbance. Police learned that a man pulled a sleeping female houseguest’s shirt up and pants down and then proceeded to touch himself, when the female woke up. As a result, Aaron Lee Dunn, 47, was arrested for sexual imposition and taken to the Washington County Jail.

¯Police received a call about a man screaming at passing cars and walking in the roadway. Police located the man at Pike and S. Seventh streets and gave him a cease and desist. Steven E. Fox, 51, continued the behavior and was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct cease and desist and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ Police began investigating a 21 year old male having sexual conduct with a minor and providing the minor with marijuana. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence of the suspect, Alexander Rector, 21, in the 300 block of Third Street. Police found Rector to be in possession of a firearm for which he is currently under indictment for a drive-by shooting in December 2022. As a result of the investigation, Rector was placed under arrest for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and having weapons while under disability, all of which are felonies. He was transported to Washington County Jail.

¯ Police were dispatched to the Walmart on Pike Street in reference to a man underscanning $130 worth of items. After investigation, police arrested Michael Fries, 59, for theft. Fries was released on a personal recognizance bond.

¯ Police were dispatched to Acme Street in reference to a man disrupting 911 service. Police spoke with the man and advised him to stop calling 911 for non-emergency reasons. The man continued to make calls and was placed into handcuffs after resisting. Larry Clark Shaffer, 55, was taken to Washington County Jail for disrupting public service and resisting arrest. A police officer was bitten by Clark’s small dog, drawing blood, during the arrest. The dog was impounded.

Jan. 12

¯ Police were contacted by the Vice Principal of Marietta High School in reference to a fight that took place between two female students in the library. Both students will be summoned into juvenile court for disorderly conduct/fighting.

¯ Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Second Street in reference to a stolen motorcycle. The victim advised officers that on Jan. 11 his 2012 Yamaha FZ-8 motorcycle was missing.

¯ Police responded to the 300 block of Wooster Street in reference to a possible DOA. Upon arrival officers made contact with a distraught female who had found her 25-year-old boyfriend dead in his residence. Police secured the scene and the body was transported for an autopsy. The incident is still under investigation.

Jan. 14

¯ Police responded to Marietta Memorial Hospital in reference to a female that had been pink slipped attempting to leave. Officers learned the female had entered a vehicle and left the area just before police arrived. Police entered the female as a missing/endangered person and issued a BOLO to surrounding agencies in an attempt to find her.

Jan. 15

¯ Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Pike Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with the complainant who advised a female had pushed her. Police reviewed video of the incident and observed the altercation but no assault.

¯ Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Pike Street to an apartment in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with a female and male upon arrival. The female was found to have an active protection order against the male, James A. Henes, 47. Henes was arrested for violating a protection order and transported to Washington County Jail.

¯ Police were sent to Third Street in reference to a house being entered and several items being taken. Police investigated the incident.
