MHS to hold town hall in Sistersville

Memorial Health System invites community members and patients from Sistersville, West Virginia, and surrounding communities to attend a town hall meeting at the Sistersville Fire Hall from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18.

Dan Breece, DO, President of Sistersville General Hospital and Chief Medical Officer of Memorial Health System, Heidi McGowan, administrator for Sistersville General Hospital, and Bob Gesing, AIA, Principal for Trinity NAC, will be in attendance to speak on the new build and answer any questions that the community may have concerning the upcoming MHS expansions in the area.

A brand-new Sistersville General Hospital to replace the existing hospital was announced last June, and since then there has been excitement among community members.

“I can’t walk anywhere in the building without anyone asking about it,” says McGowan. “We offer good healthcare now, but we’ll offer exceptional healthcare with this new facility.”

Featuring a state-of-the-art lab and diagnostic testing center, a 4,500-square-foot emergency department, eight inpatient rooms, community rooms for classes and meetings, and more space for on-site care, this 30,000-square-foot facility is a highly anticipated addition to the Sistersville area.

“The project is important because it ensures that healthcare will continue to be available to Tyler County for decades to come,” says Dr. Breece. “That is the exciting part for the community,” continues McGowan, “they were facing losing healthcare [access] before they joined the MHS family. They have exceptional staff and services–the building is just a space that will allow them to continue exceptional care close to home.”
