As the calendar turns to 2024, downtown Marietta is making plans to celebrate the New Year with January's First Friday today, hosted by Marietta Main Street. The monthly event runs from 5-9 PM, and many businesses will be open late with special promotions and activities. This month's post-holiday event will allow the community to enjoy food and drinks, live music, deep discounts and other festivities.
On Front Street, First City Records will be hosting Evie Shaffer performing from 6-8 p.m. Just a Jar Design Press and the Historic Lafayette Hotel will also provide live music throughout the evening. The Lafayette will offer dinner and drink specials, as will 740 Social. Tiber Way Grille will be serving up a fish fry along with some drink specials.
Participating Main Street partners staying open include Clutch Collective, Green Acres of Marietta, Hidden Marietta, Sugar Maple Boutique, Tabletop Puzzles and Games. Teri Ann's will be offering 40% off coats, gloves, and scarves (some exclusions apply).
Andy's Toy Chest will offer 10% off purchases while American Flags and Poles will have all past Candles of the Month on sale for $17. First City Records is planning a Blowout CD sale, with some priced less than a dollar. In-stock socks will be 25% off at Marietta Adventure Company, and shoppers can enjoy 20% off their total at Threadz Boutique. The Marietta Makery will be announcing new Creative Classes, and Wit & Whimzy will have mystery grab bags along with clearance items.
The New Year First Friday is a fun opportunity to grab some post-holiday bargains, dine and drink in the warmth of local restaurants, and enjoy live music and special promotions.
