Multiple school districts around the Mid-Ohio Valley are closed today after another round of snowfall overnight.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks has issued a level 2 snow emergency, meaning roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.
“Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on the roadways,” the office said in a Facebook post this morning. “Contact your employer to see if you should report for work.”
Closed today are:
* Belpre City Schools.
* Caldwell Exempted Village Schools.
* Fort Frye Local Schools.
* Frontier Local Schools.
* Marietta City Schools.
* Morgan Local Schools.
* Noble Local Schools.
* Parkersburg Catholic Schools (elementary school, packet #2; high school virtual)
* Pleasants County Schools.
* Switzerland of Ohio Local Schools.
* Tyler County Schools.
* Warren Local Schools.
* Washington State Community College (offices and classes remote from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., evening law enforcement academy will operate normally).
* Wetzel County Schools.
* Wolf Creek Local Schools.
* Wood County Schools (Code A).
